Nothing in owners manual, and search wouldn't work for me, so I'm wondering if there's anything to know about front wheel removal with regards to what to do with the caliper or any tricks, and what about the belt tension situation? Do you need to mess with the pulley?

And while we're here, any idea on general amount of miles the belt is good for?

Service manual is at home, i'll see if i can scan something for you.

1- front should be easy, just like any other bike, but I haven't had to pull mine yet.

Belt tension removal to pull rear - i'll look when i get home and let you know what SM says.

Belt life - supposedly lifetime, but iirc folks were getting about 30k out of them if not racing.

Every year the belt gets stronger. There are belts that will do 1000 miles and snap, and others will get 100,000 miles and no issues.

Had to rebalance the front wheel at pick up due to the weight being loose.

No problems getting it off.

Lift the bike
I forgot about the front fender. Thanks Cc
remove caliber bolts
loosen piinch bolts on axle
remove axle
slide wheel back to clear room for caliber
pull caliber off to the side and let hang
remove wheel

I remove the front fender to make rotation of the right fork leg easier. The caliper has grooves on it's inside for the spokes on the wheel to give extra clearance.

Belt tension is preset by the rear axle. The necked down portion gives the tension release/ set.

Its marked very clearly on the fork right next to the axle. Its hard to miss.

noobs there slots in the caliper for spoke clearance so u don't have to remove caliper or turn fork tube.

Hmm, it's still a lot easier torotate the fork leg to roll the wheel forward.

Note: rear axle has a pinch bolt on left swingarm. I usually need to heat the rh swingarm (with a heat gun) to het the axle to break loose (even with a liberal Application of never-seize. The hex adapter is in the toolkit.

You can remove the rear caliper bolts from the left side through the big holes in the rotor.

Can somebody supply the torque specs?

So that means both front and rear wheel axles are reverse thread, correct?

Tensions are

Front axle 39 - 41 ft-lbs

Caliper bolts 35 - 37

Axle pinch bolts 20 - 22
-----------------------------------

Fender bolts 72 - 82.5 in-lbs

P clamp 36 - 60

Rear wheel

Axle tighten to 23 - 27 ft-lbs back off two turns then tighten to 48 - 52

Pinch bolt 40-45

Caliper bolts 23.5 - 26

p clamp 18 - 20

you can leave the rear caliper on and angle the rear tire out and back in. not necessary to remove the front fender.

New belts are tough.
I coiled up a new one and stuffed it under the seat for two months.
After 2 months, I put it on Loretta, have around 6200 miles on that belt now.





















Took about 50 minutes with tools I carry.
I wanted to make sure I could do it roadside...
