Now really, who needs those huge stickers? Everyone can recognize a Buell from a hundred yards away. I really appreciate the aesthetics of the monotone color scheme and how it accentuates the lines of the cr. In my opinion, the stickers just detract. They look like they'll just peel right off. Has anyone done so? I almost started peeling but thought I'd check with you guys first.

peel em off soon or the BUELL will still be there due to weathering of the surrounding areas. but even if it has been exposed to the elements for years 'that shit will buff right out'

but seriously, it will buff out

they peel off very easy. i replaced mine with the older chromed "American Motorcycles" style. There was very little residual glue left on the 'tank' and it too came off easily.
Just peel em.....

Peel the hero blue Buell emblems off of a white / blue '09R. I'm pretty sure that's punishable by jail time isn't it ; )

With Harley doing what they did to Erik, I'd think we'd want to leave those stickers on to shout to the world we ride BUELLS!!

There are still people who've never heard of them.

However, if you plan on replacing the Buell logos with bullet-ridden Harley logos, I fully approve.

You can get the older logos right from Buell, or you could at least a month ago.

I replaced the black rubber BUELL stickers on my XB9R with white OEM S2 decals. Looks much better. Maybe should have ordered two sets...

If you want to peel them off, please don't throw them away. Send them to me instead. I would take all of them that I can get.

Chopped, you can order them from any dealer. If there is a specific sticker you are looking for, PM me, I might be able to get you the part number.

+1000 on the "send your old decals to me" plea. Stick 'em on some wax paper and PM me, I'll send you my mailing address.

I didn't like "de-badging" my Buells *before* this all hit the fan. I'm proud to ride Buell, and I have been for nearly 15 years. Now that all this has gone down...I'm DEFINITELY keeping my badging, and displaying it as proudly as I can!

I saw the most awesome treatment at Skip Fordyce HD a few weeks back: an XB-something where he had used the old-style decals (completely separate letters) as templates to dremel the name out of the airbox. He used a kind of steel mesh as backing for the holes.

If this was your bike, would you please post a picture?

I peeled them off. The stickers are now smartly displayed on the sides of my tool chest. It was actually a messy, laborious job getting the glue residue off the air box cover. It took me an hour to get it off and apply a coat of wax. As with most of these projects, you learn how to do it right just as you finish the job.

Recommended procedure:
Get some Goo Gone, peel the stickers off, apply and reapply and reapply the Goo Gone to the glue residue. Be patient, let it dissolve the glue. Give it fifteen minutes. Then with a glue gone soaked paper towel, work the glue residue inward from the edges into one lump that you can lift off cleanly. Don't spread it around at all. This is the mistake I made and it made a mess. Instead, work it in on itself. Easy sneezy.

heat them gently with a hair dryer. the glue softens and comes off with the sticker. works on all the decals. wd-40 works for cleaning off the remaining glue residue. reinforce gently heat them. 10 minutes with waxing.

My CR has the rubber logos, I'm thinking of taking them off the airbox and putting them on the frame as knee grip pads. What'd'ya think?

I think mine are beautiful ... Yes, I'm being serious. I can't imagine not having that blue emblem there, but I do secretly wish it still said "American Motorcyles" as part of it.

I bought mine a week before the announcement. On the day of the big news I peeled all of them off and put one sticker back. You can see it on my profile pic. Thats the only sticker on it - nothing on the tail, triple clamps, endcaps on the motor,.. nothing. Just the AMF and the build date sticker.

+1 Bott!

-Ron
