All is well with my new '09 CR, just over 1000 miles, except a pretty loud clunk when going into first gear from neutral. How loud is yours?

**CLUNK**

It's called "positive engagement". : )

I've also found that aside from a standing start...the clutch on the 1125 is pretty much optional. LOVE IT. But first gives a very XB-like clunk, yours is not unusual.

Compared the H-D big twins that I've owned over the years, that Buell clunk sounds almost too quiet to me ... But it didn't take me long to get used it. I love the way these things shift!

it's because the tranny is spinning and takes a long time to spool down, longer than a stop light from what i have observed.
my 9 is the same way, but takes less time to spool down.

don't le t it bother you
