I tried searching, and I looked in the owner's manual at the top...couldn't find a conclusive answer. What type of bulb is the CR low beam?

buell.com shows 55 watt H7. So a 55w H7 HID conversion should be just fine, right?

Yes it will fit fine. I think I will steal a bulb off my Uly and throw it on my CR now : )
