My kit came today and I am in the middle of the install. I decided to start with the throttle cables since I figure that is the PITA part.

I carefully studied the factory routing and took pictures.

The install when smoother than I thought. The KEY to the adjustment is to make the cables AS SHORT AS POSSIBLE. I tightened the throttle end as far as it would go. Then I tightened the grip end as far as it would go. I would would say it know feels and snaps just like my Clubmans ...

Here is a video. Off to do the clutch and brake now. Notice I am also installing my Traction Grips at the same time ....

IMPORTANT!!! There is one more tweak that needs to be done!! My throttle was hanging when turning left. I will get some pictures and explain once I get everything buttoned back up.

The final piece of the puzzle. The throttle cable bracket on the throttle bodies needs to be slightly tweaked. Watch the video and I'll explain. The project is complete including clutch and brake lines ... and saved about $400 labor at the dealer!

I still need to cut out the ends of the Traction grips and mount my bar end mirrors.

Brumbear ... after "adjusting" the throttle bracket on the throttle body ... my throttle snaps back across 90% of the handlebar range. As I am approaching left lock and at left lock .. it still closes on it's own ... but not with the same authority and snap as the rest of the motion. I may have been able to tweak the bracket a little more but didn't want to bend it anymore than I already had since the throttle was closing on it's own across the entire range of the handlebars. Besides .. the only time I'm at full left lock is when I'm backing it into my garage.

Good luck Dave ... make sure you report back if the bracket tweak works for you. I'm sure it's not a fluke ... I had my cables in and out a dozen times and routed them several different ways. Nothing worked until I tweaked that bracket.

What clutch lever is that? Do you have a matching brake lever? Are they just aftermarket levers or are the housings replaced too?

They are aftermarket ASV brand levers - just like Pazzo, CRG, etc. Yes I have a matching set.

Spot on DM all done today slight stickyness at the full left otherwise MONEY.
I did not even have to tweak the bracket although I think I will anyway.
To add I put both adjusters of the top cable on the lock side for the extra 1/16 of an inch big 16th makes all the difference.
Thanks again for all the video
Dave

Brum,
Do you have any pics of your adjustor setup? Are you saying you use both adjustments nuts to lengthen the cable, rather than one on each side of the cable holder?

just on the top cable if you look at 1125cr bars part 2 video above 13 seconds in you will be looking at the piece. I took it off (you must take apart the throttle cables at the throttle first) and put both adjuster nut instead of 1 on each side on the throttle body or kocking side. It was like that on Froggy's bike when I took it off and I thought it was just on wrong from the Dealer but it makes the cable about 1/16 of an inch longer

Good tip about the adjuster nut. Basically you did same thing I did but without tweaking the bracket.

yes sir and I might tweak the bracket too to see if I can get all the range without sticking I only have a minute amount of sticking at this point all the way to the left side none in the riding range.

Great info guys!

brumbear, the glass adjustment is really just fine tuning for the mirrors... you can get them pretty close by moving the entire pearch up/down (yes it will move the lever too)or moving the bracket left/right...

Brumbs, I noticed with the clubmans the mirrors work better for me. The high bars I always got a corner of my elbow, now I get a full unobstructed view. : )

Got to test ride my CR with the High Bars yesterday. I can now call the CR my Greased Lightning! Ergonomically it feels like my XB12S Lighting ... the Helicon adds the Grease!

I installed the CR highbar kit from Buell. $179 after the typical 20% discount from most of the online dealers.

If they gave a 20% discount they probably aren't a sponsor so he won't be able to post.

Liberty and Precision Harley both offer a 10% discount and are Badweb sponsors. There is two or three dealers online that offer 20% off, but at the cost of shit service, slow delivery, and then they send you an email AFTER you place an order to let you know it won't be in till January 2010.
