Could someone tell me what you torqued the pinch bolt to? The service manual gives 38-40 on the cap bolt, but nothing on the pinch bolt. Much thanks.

Kevin, thank you very much. I tried to search that out,but got no results. I recall you mentioning the write-up, just seems maybe the search function wasn't working well yesterday. I have the GPR instruction sheet, and I assumed they meant loosen TOP triple pinch bolts for an install only. I have no clicking or any other issues with the front end. I understand that your write-up was to also check bearing play,as well as to install the damper. Now I'm confused as to which set to loosen for a straight install.I'm being overly cautious, maybe, but this is pretty critical stuff. Thanks again, Pauly

don't over tighten your air-box cover bolt. it will snap clean off, and that sucks

Bott(Pauly),

Of course, if you want to follow my instructions to the letter, you could do that and still have no issues with the install, you would just be doing extra work.

From what I understand, when installing the GPR only, you don't have to suspend the front of the bike and loosen the lower fork clamp.

All you should have to do is loosen the bolts on the top clamp of the triple tree (on the fork tubes and steering stem pinch fastener), take off the factory cap nut from the steering stem (big chrome cap) and install and torque the GPR steering stem nut (black male/female threaded adapter), then re-torque the steering stem pinch fastener, then re-torque the upper triple clamp bolts on the fork tubes... from there, you should be good with my instructions covering step #9 till the job is done.

When you finish the job, make sure the fork tubes look like they are even heights off the top deck of the upper triple tree. There are hash marks on the top end of the fork tubes. These can be used as a good measuring gauge.

If you still have questions, ask away. I won't get annoyed. I'd rather you have every question answered and feel confident in your install than mess something up in the process because you didn't want to ask.

Hope it works out. I'm really enjoying my GPR.
