I have checked archives and there have been a lot of theories some say its the charging system that causes this error. I have 4,000 on the bike started it up was fine this morning took off to work 10 minutes down the road battery and engine light came on. I turned around went back home. Took my car to work. Any new developments on what is the cause? Code is po562 system voltage error. 09 CR.

Freeze,
Had the volt sys error also. voltage dropped with CEL and battery would not hold a charge. I cant remember what code it threw. Ended up being the stator, replaced under warranty. Happened at 3400 miles.

Damn hopefully it will make it to the dealer. I mean I rode it a good 7 miles before the two lights came on. Made it back home. Hopefully it will make it to the dealer. Dealer is pretty far. Bike is only a few months old bought back in July. Was it towed or where you able to ride it to the dealer?

Was about 3 miles from the house and had the inst cluster on to show battery voltage. It slowly dropped until I got back. Hooked up battery tender for a few hours until it was charged and went back for a ride to check things out. It started dropping again quickly. I opted not to ride it to the dealer cuz they are about an hours ride away and didnt know if it would shut off if voltage got too low. So I trucked it to the dealer. Make sure they order the gasket also with the new stator.
gasket R0008.1AM
stator assy 14V 520W Y0442.2AM
If u use the the security code they will need that also.

Cool. Thanks for the info hopefully its not that but your issue makes sense as to what is happening to mine. I'm buying the battery tender when it is all said and done. I dont use the security that often if at all. I wonder what causes stator failure to fail that soon?

If the inst cluster starts trippen its probley the VSS sensor, warranty.
Clutch weep (spit) didn't start until about 7K, warranty.
Turn signals about same time.
Have to say all has been fixed and dealer has been great but, TOTALLY check the bike over before you leave after getten warranty work done. Check it over.

Okay finally the day arrived to try and get my bike to the dealer today. It did not make it. The voltage on the battery dropped to a 11.2. I had to call the tow truck from the dealer lucky to have an extended warranty. This particular dealer has done 3 stator failures on bikes with typical miles as mine and year. Mine is a build date in Dec. 08. This is what the dealer suspects the problem to be. It is still up in the air. I was planning on doing a ride sunday looks like that wont happen. They should be able to diagnose the issue by the end of the day. So Cringblast's remarks might hold true to the problem.

I will give a heads up on the complete issue. I did mention decel shut off with clutch engaged to downshift problem that has happened 3 times in 4,000 miles. I will get a new tire to boot since I also found a nail in rear tire this morning.
