There really isn't a good way to carry your owner's manual on the 1125R/CR -- no waterproof compartments of adequate size.

My recommendation is to carry a thumb drive. Smaller ones (2GB or less) should be more than adequate and cost less than $15. You can create PDFs of the online Buell owner's manual. You can save scans of receipts for maintenance items (oil, filters, spark plugs, etc.) so that you have records for warranty. You can get PDFs of useful articles, test reports, hints, threads on here, torque specs, service bulletins, phone numbers, addresses and phone numbers of Buell servicing Harley dealers, insurance information (medical, motorcycle, dental), and phone numbers for Buell Customer Service, the AMA towing service, attorneys that specialize in speeding tickets ; )

Get access to a computer at a library, K-Mart, Best Buy, police station, hospital, or wherever in an emergency and you have all of your vital information right there.

Better still is to have the info on an iPhone, iPod Touch, or similar so that you can review it without access to a computer.

While you are at it, you might want to start archiving anything that might be useful from the Buell site, including Fuell magazine, suspension setup articles, accessory catalog, photos of the bikes, etc.

Works for me!

wow that is an awesome idea .. never thought of that .. especially the receipts .. much easier to maintain then papers everywhere lol

maybe we could even get a thread or a database going of PDFs/Files that people could download right to the drive ... that way we can get em all centralized to one location for new owners and such

Thanks Tom!

I'd love to be able to provide PDFs of the manual I created from Buell's online web site, but that would technically be copyright infringement -- equivalent to me printing a copy of it on my laser printer for you. Heaven forbid!

I've dealt with the receipts where they fade to unreadable in a couple of years, which is another good reason for it.

You could even have ECMSpy and associated files on the thumb drive.

I'm going to create a Buell Thumb Drive directory on my hard drive and just dump everything into it for copying to the thumb drive I carry.

Yeah .. it makes sense especially with buell gone and harley dealers having to still cover warranty .. the last thing you want is some dealer saying ... ohh you dont have those oil change receipts ? .. sorry no warranty work for you

This is one reason why I really want PDFs of the service manuals. When I'm 300 miles from home when I limp the bike into a shop -- which may be an independent shop in an emergency -- the service, electrical, and parts manuals will be on my shelf at home. If I had them on the thumb drive as PDFs, I could either let the dealer use the thumb drive to service my bike or I could print off requested sections for him (like muffler bearing replacement or powerband tensioning). ; )

I also like to be able to print out the sections that are of interest for the task I'm doing and not get greasy fingerprints all over a $50-$60 manual.
