some here have used the Third Eye bicycle mirror. I got a CRG knockoff at Cycle Gear for about half the price of CRG's.

Don't get the $17 ones on ebay or if you do, be sure to put some super glue on the screws that hold the mirror housing to the arm. One of mine started to back out and there's no way to tighten them now.

There are some on ebay now that are sold by moto-deluxe. They are $59 and fold up, unlike the cheap ones. They don't have the screwed on housing either.

IMO, this is some of the best looking stuff out there, not the cheapest. US dollar doesn't exchange very well these days.

the bar-end mirror/turn signal combo looks really nice.

I have the oberons. They are small and much more well designed than the crg imho.

Those CRG's have the same type of screws that my cheap ones do. Hopefully they used some good thread locker on them.

I ran the CRG knockoffs from Ebay for many years and miles on several bikes. Just learn from our experience and loctite the screw after you pull the glass out and put a glob of silicon behind it to reduce vibes. Once those two things are done you should have many trouble free miles. I also used the 3rd eye bicycle mirrors on my V-rod several years ago> I only had about 900 miles experience with them, but from what i gathered they were cheaply made(ie plastic housings) and vibed a lot. YMMV but I would go for the Ebay CRG fakes again and just do the two things I mentioned.

Any idea how to get the glass out without breaking? I've thought about using a heat gun or boiling in water, but I don't know what kind of adhesive they used.

These are more expensive, but they fold up. Still cheaper than CRG's.

This guy used to sell similar mirrors that didn't have a screw on mirror housing. It was all one piece and superior imo.

I think to get the glass out you just undo the tiny screw on the bar side of the mirror.

They are all about the same. The $59.95 ones will fold up and allow for more adjustment. From the looks of my $17 ones, the $59 ones are made to a higher quality.

To remove glass first remove the arm from the housing use needle nose pliers to finish unscrewing the screws. Next use a heat gun on the back to soften the adhesive. Then push on screws to pop glass out and gently pull on glass with your fingers.

Never had any issues with the CRG's in the 3 years I've used them - no loose bolts, etc.
The big difference between CRG's and the cheaper ones is the manufacturing method. CRG uses all solid aluminum parts that are machined from aluminum bar stock (incorrectly called "billet" by a lot people). The cheap ones are stamped from thin sheet stock and tend to be a bit flimsy and not as strong. The mounts are cast aluminum and tend to break if you over-tighten them. CRGs don't break in this manner.
Having said that, some friends use the cheaper ones and haven't had any issues either. Guess they just got lucky.

here is a link to a Canadian site (Blue Streak Racing) that sells Oberon bar end mirrors (from the UK). I got a set of the 60mm ones for my XB9S. I think they look sweet. All you need to know is the internal diameter of the bar end. the XB9S was 19mm. They give you everything for all sizes from 12mm up to 22mm in the box anyway. See pic as well. I likem. They are stable to view although not very large viewing area, but enough to see and with a quick head check, you're gone. Fully adjustable, either mirror on side or end of bar end piece that comes with them. Not cheap but real nice quality/looks.
