I tried something new today after my ride, figuring it might not work since it was going into a closed container ... Vacuum and/or vapor pressure. I had an old brake bleeder from my C3 Corvette days. So when I got home, I plugged that into the fuel vent house and it started burbling into the little container on the other end.

The problem wasn't getting it to do it, but rather getting it to stop. It just kept on, and would probably still be doing it if I hadn't of disconnected it. When I loosened the seal on the little container, it looked to start boiling inside. Prior to getting the canister, I might try that 'run vent tube to outside' suggestion made earlier. I park right inside the garage door - Easy.

I was thinking the exact same thing while at work last night I have an old brake bleeder sitting I might try.

Joe, it looked so good too ... Plugs right into the vent tube, and the container end had a magnet that fit perfectly into the left-side wheel/swingarm recessed bolt. But once it starts flowing into there, it won't stop. I predicted that would happen, but still had to try. Sometimes the fun is in trying!

When I removed the passenger pegs, I took the end of the breather tube and pushed on a piece of rubber tubing then routed it to the other side (right) of the bike behind the hollow swing arm, to the axle area. I was going to put on a catch bottle that is used for batteries but after I ran the tube it stopped peeing gas. I don't know why but it worked.

Milleniumx1, I had the same problem on my Uly and I noticed the 1125 is doing it as well. I found a solution with the Uly by modifying the vent pressure valve. Once I get into it I will try a couple of things and will let you know what works.

Hope someone figures out something for it. I'm getting tired of my garage reeking of gas when I get back from riding.

I saw this thread when it was first posted and was insanely jealous as we were in the middle of a blizzard. Now that I've got to spend the day on the bike and I'm hallucinating due to my family room wreaking of gasoline, I feel your pain. I just opened the garage and am airing it out.... man it stinks...

Or maybe, I'll just run race gas. I love that smell!

I'll probably still pick up an OEM CA-style canister for mine. But I tried the trick an early post mentioned - Running a tube outside the garage. Worked like a champ, $3 and about 10 minutes work.

When I got home from riding today, I plugged the new tube and fitting into the vent tube, and the fumes and fuel dripped just outside my garage door. Not even a hint of fuel smell inside the garage. Works for me!
