I road race a 2007 GSXR 1000 and I can change wheels in a heartbeat. How difficult is it to change the rear wheel? I have a pit bull rear stand so thats a non issue. | ||

Not hard at all. Details in your service manual, basically you need to jack up the wheel, loosen the pinch bolts, remove the rear caliper, use the axle adapter in your toolkit to remove the axle, and presto, your done. | ||

one thing to remember is the lefty thread axle. turn the opposite way to loosen/tighten. | ||

removing the rear calliper is the better bet, I find that removing the calliper is quicker than messing around to get the wheel out without doing so | ||

Put blue tape on the backside of the caliper if you aren't going to remove it since it will rub the well of the wheel a bit. | ||

Do you take the belt off just like you do a chain? Where is the tool kit on a CR? Is it under the pass. seat? | ||

Yes tool kit is under passenger seat. | ||

you have a bike and don't know where the tool kit is or what's in it??? Have you even read the owners manual??? It will tell you how to start the bike, a good thing to know. | ||

Here's a link to a thread about changing the belt I did. You gotta do most of this to get the wheel off. Biggest difference is I did all this while on the side-stand, practicing for a roadside belt replacement. The muffler bolt backed out and locked up the idler wheel, guess I didn't get it tight enough. It ran locked up for about 10 miles. These new belts are TOUGH. Z |
