Took the CR out for a ride, went over 300 miles so I took It to 7500 RPM, when I parked It in the driveway I saw fluid was leaking and blowing back on exhaust, foot, and motor. I thought this bike had the better clutch cover!
How hard to fix?

No effort at all. Known issue, revised parts available. Warranty item. Done.

My 09 isn't leaking, yet! What's your build date? Mine was built March 09.

Moosetang, Mine was built Jan 09. It did not leak until I went to 7500 RPM. Went to 6000 RPM all the time up to 300 miles...

I doubt it was the rpms, i've been to at least 8500. It's probably the 300 miles, I only have 118.

You would think It would leak all the time!!! Not just at a certain RPM.Going for a ride later, If it leaks again I will take It to the dealer. Glad I did not trade in my Uly!!

Scott, it is acceptable to ride so long as the fluid does not SHOOT out when the clutch depresses. I rode my '08 for over a 1000 miles with the clutch cover leaking. Unless you are one of the very very few "squirters" I wouldn't let it bother me to much. Check your fluids and enjoy the ride.

What leaks on these things, Clutch or engine oil?

Clutch fluid I believe, better known as brake fluid.

Where does it leak from? Around the fitting or somewhere else.

It looks like mine is coming from a weep hole in the clutch cover{black round thing on right side of motor} or from around it!!

that black round thing is just a puck that snaps onto the cover... you can actually rotate it upside down and move the weep hole to the top to keep it from driping out, you will have to rotate it back to drain it once in a while depending on how much leaks. My bike is a 10/08 2009 cr and it has the updated rev b cover. no leaks yet at 900+ miles. post up a pic of your leaker so we can see what cover you have, not sure when the change was made.

The cover has nothing to do with the leak. It's a mechanism inside that's leaking. Sometime during 2008 production year BMC switched to the Rev. B clutch cover, which has the heartier "puck." The 2010 model has the updated, non-leaking piston/sleeve--which is the part retro-fitted on all the leaky 2008s and 2009s.

BTW, there are tons of threads regarding this issue if you use "Search" function.

So buying the '09 to avoid the weeping clutch issue of '08 wasn't exactly accurate?

Well my dealer told me the whole clutch was different on my 09 cr and it would give me no trouble, guess he lied or just plain don't know about the bikes he sells.

My r has been leaking all summer. Just put it up for the winter and took it to the dealer to get fixed. I'm getting the new piston, sleeve and cover but there back ordered until 11/30.

I'll have to call mine today. My delivery was set back a few days, something to do with a clutch fluid leak. I heard the "back-ordered until 11/30" (as Hunter mentioned above) ... But they ended up getting whatever it needed from another dealer out of state. I'll try not to worry about it until I know the score.

That's what we're talking about here, they're fixing it before you take delivery.

Good dealer IMO.

I was told the parts were delayed till 10/30...but that was about a month ago when I dropped the bike off. If they are delayed another month I will be selling the bike. My 1125 has been in the shop since the first weekend in September...this is RIDICULOUS!

I don't beleive the dealer did anything to my clutch, he said it came in 09 with the better set up. Hayabusa I take it you have had a rash of problems which is really to bad because I know how you feel when I had my 2000 M2 I felt like the shop owned it and not me! to say the least I dumped the pile of shit and said untill Buell came out with a bike that had a different power plant never again.well I waited 9 yrs and Well so far the 1125 cr is a very good bike but I only have 245 miles to. so we will see next spring how she is.

Badlions - Agreed. One of the many reasons I went with Cycle Connection over some closer (or even modestly cheaper) alternatives. If for no other reason than curiosity, just wondering what they did replace before it showed up at my house.

So basically my clutch leaking is inevitable, great!

Not all covers leak, so it's not inevitable.
If you have a RevB cover and it starts leaking, spin the puck 180 degrees and put the weep-hole at the top.
That will contain the leak until you can get the X2086.1AM kit.
