I just picked up a Black '08 1125r from Gengras in East Hartford for $6k plus tax...expensive to insure though... |

I don't care if it was the last Buell I would not pay someone 620 dollars to fill out some paper work cause that is what the doc fee is it's not taxes. 100 is plenty for them to do the paper work takes them an hour and you know the guy 0r gal doing it does not make 100 an hour. |

I hope my post is with the theme of the thread in that I believe the context is to understand what the dealer costs are.
Doc fee...
Just so we are talking apples to apples, the doc fee in my post applied to getting the title processed, i.e., the AZ state registration fee and the effort to acquire the title in the buyers name. On other invoices, that has usually been in the $280 to $320 range and I suppose that varies from state to state quite a bit.
In AZ, the registration is based on MSRP. To be fair to the dealer, I don't know what portion of the document fee was paying for registration, but... it isn't $620.
And yeah, the dealer was effectively quoting me full price considering they receive $5K from Harley on a two year old model. Normally dealers try harder to move the older models and I think it underlines some of the problems Buell has had in the market place.

Ask for what you want and pay what you can afford is what I always say...I was planning on changing from my 12R to a CR this year but it came down to the insurance for me...seems the insurance co.s think its a 'busa or something.  |

Really my insurance is 218 a year full coverage.But they go off of cc's not what the bike really is |
