UGGG! I was on the Horseman run today minding my own business riding my CR that I have knocked over a few times, and when we stopped to eat lunch, one of the other guys told me my tail light is out! With the assistance of Doon, we removed the lens cover and my bulb is burnt out, it was black as midnight.

My bike has only 5000 miles on it since I bought it in August, this is the first and only thing to ever go wrong on it. WTF is up with this? Now the next time I am at my dealer getting my new radiator pods (which keep getting landed on BTW), I will have to make an unannounced visit to the service desk and have them spend the 5 minutes to swap my bulb. Or I could take a bulb out of my spare light housing I got sitting here, and then spend the $2 on a new bulb for that, but why should I spend a dime on this thing? What a piece of crap, its no wonder Buell went under.

Oh well, its night time now, I will take my 08 1125R or my Blast for a ride now, at least those bikes have been 100% problem free!

: )

(Note, this post is completely sarcastic)

My f-ing battery went out on my 03 firebolt. After 8 year this piece of junk went out. Yeah, yeah maybe I shoulda put on a batery tender, but IMHO Buell should have done that for me.

After 8 years and 60K + miles it this goes out. POS, the only thing I can do now is just sell it and complain about resale value.

You're right, what a piece of crap! Tell you what, I do you a favor and give you $3K for it. We'll do a reverse fly and ride. You deliver it to FL and I'll put you on a plane back home.

My Buell is so bad that it actually made the passenger rear brake on my '01 Silverado start dragging today. And I've not even started this bike since it was rolled brand new into my garage last night.

ONE day having this bike, and now my reliable vehicles are having issues. WTF? I'm going to go check the parking/signal lights in my wife's SUV now ... I can just feel one about to die ; )

Okay, I'll shut up now. Sarcasm is a favorite of mine, so I just couldn't resist when I saw this thread.

I bought a led to take care of that problem. Vibrations cause the bulbs to burn out. A 1157 clear led 10 bulb cluster@ autozone. Have 14k on mine and still going strong . Cost ya 12$

Since everybody wants to chime in on Buell making money for HD, here's my $.02 worth. Froggy can support HD by buying 6 HD replacement for $2 ea, vs one $12 LED at Autozone. Since his first lasted 5K miles, thats 30K miles expected life for 6 of them vs 14K+ for the more expensive replacement. I'm sure HD will keep bulbs on hand for the 7 to 10 yrs that they say that they will!

Funny thing is, I lost count of how many miles on all my XB's over the years, and not one bulb failure other than headlights, those seemed to die in 15k intervals like clockwork!

I don't even stoppie much anymore as my wrist hurts from my wreck, so I doubt thats the cause either.

Rob, your light is on my list, but I am kinda short funded right now, something about picking up another bike I don't need. : (

Froggy - wow man that sucks. What a total POS! Luckily you have your Blast...

It really is no wonder they aren't making bikes when they can't even make a bulb for their bike that goes more than 5k!

(i was totally going to rip whoever started this then saw it was sarcasm and YOU...lol)

just got done with a semi dry ride w/ a buddy... awesome.

Look close at the HD bulb. The bar and shield is stamped on the base. $0.79 instantly becomes $2.00

LED's void the warranty.

(P.S. - I know that's inaccurate but I was laughing so hard reading all the stuff the "dealers who talk directly to the factory" have been telling folks and well . . there's so much bogus information about why not this? : )

What a waste of a potentially good thread and/or information.

Shows a lot. Proves a lot.

Non of which is new.

BTW, the locking plunger mechanism on the frequently-used door connecting my garage and kitchen froze up yesterday. Sarcasm or not, that is $15 and a trip to the H/W store that I am definitely going to blame on this 09R.

fit an LED taillight bulb with standard bayonet connector, these are less prone to burning out from either unstable voltage, overheating or vibration - cheap on Ebay

Froggy, I hear what you mean. I need to have a chat with my dealer because it turns out my left pod was magnetized at the factory and I rode past a staple on the road on Sunday and pulled the bike right over. Buell needs to pay for this.
