I've changed grips on all of my harley's, is it difficult to do it on this bike? I'm going to go with the traction grips for a little added comfort.

It is easier, unless you have to adjust the throttle butterflies. As long as everything is already adjusted properly, it should be a simple swap.

How do the bar ends come of the 1125cr?

Bar ends? You mean plastic plugs. I think they just pull out.

The bar plugs just pop right out. The grips are like vulconized on. I had to scrape the bar with a knife to get the rest of the grip off after I cut it lenghtwise. Changing out the throttle tube is pretty easy too.

I changed mine out for black Rizoma grips and barend sliders. Look great and comfy!

+1 Hellgate

I did the Rizoma's with bar end sliders during the summer, just swapped to the Buell heated grips for winter. Probably will go back to Rizoma's for summer.

BTW - sometimes you can get the left grip off by blowing shop air underneath the grip, it will balloon up and slide off fairly easily. Mine wasn't glued or vulcanized.

So the left is "glued" like the others, how does the right come off?

I have the traction grips and absolutely love them.

Installation is pretty easy. If the stockers is glued on, that's the worst part.

So if you're going to put on traction grips, they come with another throttle tube, right? So there's no need to take the actual grip off the throttle side, you just uninstall the entire tube?

Good, question. Do the throttle/idle cables connect directly to the grip? I've only changed grips on HD before.

Correct. The grips even come with glue and an applicator for the left side too.

If you want to run bar end sliders or mirrors - what have you guys used to cleanly cut the traction grips ends?

I'm looking at a set now... All sorts of pretty Buell writing on the end where i'll need to cut out...

thx!

I'm trying to decide that very thing right now. I may leave the throttle grip as is, but I have to put a hole in the left grip for my bar end mirror.

3/4 inch hole saw works pretty good. It's almost a perfect fit for the circle, but it's a tad smaller. I just twisted it by hand slowly and it cut through like butter.
