Has anyone installed one of the 2010 LED tail lights on a 09 or later 1125? Are the connectors the same? Also, is it brighter than the stock light? Thanks

the connectors are different, but easy to change out with some male spades.

the 2010 running light is weak, id say no brighter then -09 stock bulbs.
brake light isnt too bad, no doubt brighter then the stock bulbs, but not super bright.

For the price its not a bad deal...

Of course I'd still suggest an LED light from www.xblights.com

I plan on sell my Evo kit this winter and buying a light from Robert. So I can get rid of the turn signals and bolt my license plate under the rear of the bike.

My friend just picked up a 2010 XB12R and the factory LED tail light is pretty sweet, I gotta say. The smooth clear lens makes it look really sharp. I'm interested in trying to get one.

Cafefun you get what you pay for.
No, Robert's lights are a steal at that price.

Almost 2 years and over 22k miles, no problems.

Running light is easily visible in daylight.
Turn and stop are VERY bright.

His work is better than any other light I've seen. period.

ive purchased 3 lights from XBLIGHTS and he is working on rebuilding one to add license plate lights to it - nice guy to deal with and yea, there might be a little bit of a wait, but it is well worth it

he is currently trying to get a few of us local guys together and we are going to do a LED taillight shootout - you guys will see the difference!!

Yes, I can vouch for Robert & XBLights too... extreme visibility, I got integrated brake and signal lights... de-clutters the tail of the bike immensely, simply awesome.

You get what you pay for, and, it's a nice Made in the USA product, like... like... like Buells used to be... <sobs>

Thanks, I may just wait to get a better light from XBlights. The dealer was going to give me a discount on some parts so I thought I'd check to see if it was worth $45 to get the factory light.

Anyone else use the 2010 LED have pics?

I'm sure Roberts lights are of nice quality. But for 58 dollars my clear alternatives fit like a glove and never broke as well. But I don't see one for the 1125 on there site.

OK, I went and looked at the Clear Alternatives stuff.
You GOTTA be kidding me...

For one, their "integrated" light is $120 for a Firebolt(Same as 1125).
Looks like they use the cheap 2-lead LEDs that are less than half as bright as the Lumileds Robert uses.

To add... The C.A. Light is the same on the 1125's, XB lightnings and XB firebolts.

Actually all 03 to 09's have the same light ( besides uly and blast )

ride safe!

I just installed the Buell 2010 factory LED tail light on my '09 1125CR. Easy install (cut the connector, add male .25" connector lugs, and plug it in). Brighter and faster responding than stock. Sealed, so it won't get water in it like the incandescent version. Fantastic deal for not a lot of money.

yep, like I said above, its not a bad deal for the price.

Just not super bright.
I will say I was impressed with the brake light portion, it was brighter then I expected, still not crazy bright, but okay.

I'm primarily concerned with having a big difference between running lights and brake lights, which the factory LED taillight gives me. Motorcycles generally don't get rear-ended when they are not on the brakes, so I want a really obvious "he's on the brakes" warning to the drivers behind me.

I bought a clear tail lens and a bright LED tail light that plugs into the regular bulb socket.

It's really BRIGHT when the brake comes on.

I can't find where I ordered it from, cause I'd like to have another one : (

I have yet to see any drop in LED clusters that are bright. Not saying they done exist... I just have not seen one in person.

I agree with Fmaxwell on the 2010 light. I have one on my XB that will likely migrate to my 1125. For the money, its a bargain. I've followed a buddy on my bike twice now and I'm very pleased. VERY attention grabbing when on the brakes. Also agreed that I'm looking for more a change between riding and braking than a bright riding light. I've driven behind a bike with some wickedly bright LED's (riding, not brake), and all it did was cause me to target fixate and get pissed off.

Of course, in fairness I've never seen one of Robert's lights. Enough people swear by them, so they can't all be wrong.

I just fitted an LED tail light with standard bayonet fittings, cost about £6 sterling on Ebay
