Well everyone I brought home Danielle(08 1125r) two weeks ago from buell of frederick. I rode it until the 620 miles service. I wasnt too impressed. When I say this, I mean I didnt think it handled anywhere near of my XB12s. I thought that it was maybe my tires because I had pirelli's on my XB and hated them. So wednesday when it went back to the dealer for service I had them mount pilot power 2CT's. All I can say is WOW WHAT AN AMAZING MOTORCYCLE. This thing is a beast. I'm in loooooove!

Sorry I just had to tell everyone
thanks-chris

Sounds like you swapped tires when a little suspension adjustment woulda done the trick. I came off an XB9r to this bike, they handle about equally, with the 11 being more stable in the fast stuff. The 1125 does require setup work.

Clarkjw -

Not so.!

The Pilots have a totally different cross section shape than the OEM tires. Also different than the Dunlops on the XB's.

I put a set of Pilots on my XB12R hopping it would make the bike feel better. They did. So now My rear on my 1125 is about done. I will then put a set of pilots on it...knowing it will do the same.

All without having to change any suspension settings.

I know this...because I've been using these tires on the last two bikes I've owned and put over 90,000 miles on both of these old bikes.

+2
Pilots is what I am going with. I have tried 4 different brands of tires on my 1125R because I was not impressed with the Corsa's enough to pay the price they wanted.

So far the best handling tire I have tried are the Pilot's and they will be my next set.

XB9er congratulations on your new love interest. LOL

It's hard to complain about PP 2CT for the street. It's a really good tire. I prefer the Corsa III, but geez, both tires are such a great choice. Run what feels right to you, for sure.

The only tire I've *hated* was the Bridgestone OO3RS. That rounded profile cruiser-tire of a front really slows down the steering. The bike would need about 15-20 mm of ride height to get the quickness back.

Just awful.

Oh, and Bridgestones are so dang stiff they are a bear to mount. Pirelli and Michelins deform on the tire machine a lot more easily and are much easier to mount as a result.

I replaced the stck Corsas with Pilot 2 CTs just a couple weeks ago, and I don't notice a big difference. With either tire, the bike just feels sweet.

I think tires have to be incredibly subjective. First, most folks switch from a worn tire of brand A, to a new tire of brand B. There's absolutely no way to compare like that...You'd need to swap tires between all new, or equally worn, units of all brands.

I'm running the Diablo Rosso. Was happy with the Corsa3, but wanted more mileage out of them since I do lots of commuting. Mission accomplished...Went from ~4300 miles on the Corsa3 rear, to ~5100 miles on the first Rosso. Have been sadly doing even more highway this summer, and am at ~5700 miles on my current Rosso with plenty left to go.

I loved the Corsa IIIs on the track! They felt great! I just wished we could get more miles out of them on the street.
