Howdy from the new kid on the block.

1. 36 years (1st bike at 8. My son was 4.) Commute 8/10 times month. Recreation ride on road(long, mountain roads) one weekend a month, offroad and MX one weekend a month.

2. Commute: Vanson,Boots, Gloves, Shoei.(never shorts, flip flops) Off Road :ATGATT On road recreational: Dianese one piece or Vanson 2 piece "perf" suit.

3.Fortunately never on road, there have been some close ones. I have some serious MX crashes. Looking into track time, novice/beginner at Barber.

Close calls have been mostly other motorist. But debris and momentum have also played a part. Off road my fault; to close to other riders and to big for my britches.

Great source of information here...I found you guys while searching for license plate relocation ideas and options.

I was really surprised to see this video:

http://www.roadracingworld.com/news/article/?artic le=38202

Not only does it seem irresponsible to show him riding in T-shirt, shorts and sneakers, but it also sends a poor marketing message: "This isn't a real bike. Just a toy that isn't to be taken seriously."

I'm not a big fan of the "Book of Buell", but I much prefer it's message that Buells are serious bikes and not just designed to be seen on to the nearly completely opposite message of the above video.

He does say something about being nervous on the street and more comfortable on the track.

BTW, I really like the looks of that bike.

Welcome, Bicycleman!

The lag in 3rd gear is the intake solenoid. Search for it in the archives, remove it, make it be gone from your life.

Welcome to the party!

I can understand him being nervous on the street. If he gets mangled by some teenager texting her BFF, he looses a career worth millions!

Pretty bike, though.
