Hey everyone. I went down yesterday to frederick buell and picked up my new 1125r. Joe(Ratbuell) had a set of the new factory fairings, so I had him bring them out and hold them up to the bike for those who havent seen them other than the one picture on buell.com. I must say they look good in person. What do you think?

Needs more cow bell. I still have yet to see a set with the belly pan attached, that's what I really want to see.

Unless I am mistaken, the pacebike has the factory panels plus the bellypan.

Not my cup of tea, ruins the unique look of the bike and makes it look like a Yamaha. Whatever floats your boat. : )

Frog man I agree 100%. But they do look nice if you want a mid fairing.

Chicken strips should be gone today. I had them in the pictures because I just picked the bike up.

Over the stock pods, my guess is to maintain the airflow the radiators need.

It'll look a whole lot better with some rammstein decals and an Eagle,Globe, and Anchor on either side to let the cops know what they're about to stop:P

How do those mount on the lower side? I can see that they must use the regular Top Pod bolts to attach the upper portion to the bike, what keeps the lower portion from flappin' in the breeze?

There are 4 brackets that come with the kit. These brackets attach by removing existing bolts and installing the bracket and adjusting them slightly so that everything lines up. The left side is very simple to do. The right side takes a bit of tweaking if you are as meticulous as I am. I ended up spacing the right side brackets with some very hard thick rubber washers to give the fairing a bit more standoff (1/4'') from the headers. I would think Buell would have tested these things somewhat to make sure the heat tape worked well. I tweaked mine because I am anal about these things and wanted a BIT more spacing. Overall GREAT kit, and the fact it's super light weight and sturdy AND already black and shiny... nice.

Here's my setup with the D&D exhaust... I plan on putting a belly pan on as well soon.

I really like the diamond blue frame with the full fairing. Mcballpeen you bike looks great. Geforce I like your bike also but after riding with a guy that has a D&D on his 1125 it hurts my EARS too look at it.

BTW congrats Xb9er.

I know my friend, as soon as I can get someone like Odie to rip the stock exhaust up and change the outlets and give it more sound I'll be set.

I don't like the D&D pipe placement. And it needs a quiet core insert.

THE BELLY PAN COMMETH! Soon to the dealership.

I stopped at a dealer yesterday. He quoted me a price of $533 for the fairing including tax. Can I find them cheaper anywhere?

Yeah, they did leave the belly pretty exposed, but I'm assuming that was for the stock exhaust. I went to the dealer on the first or second of August and wound up with the fairing shipped to my door (the nearest dealer is over 100 miles away) on September 3rd.

It's a real pain in the backside just to get the fairing put on. The top bolt is the one you'll have trouble with. The bottom two bolts line up nicely, but the top bolt (near the fairing) is the real pain.

Buzzman, its $500, so order from a board sponsor like Liberty or Precision, they give 10% off to badwebbers. So that is $450+ shipping, no tax, if you live out of state : )

It fits over them. They do have rubber cushons for them.

I was kinda worried about the fitment over the pods and scratching them up. Buell supplies two thick rubber/foam pads that you peel and stick on the inside of the fairings. There are two raised or "scribed" boxes on the inside for the placement. Once they are on and you place the fairings up on the bike there is no contact with the pods at all...that I can see.
