Avc,

It sounds to me like you may have mis-adjusted the damping, possibly going from full out instead of full in. I'd suggest you try setting the suspension again being sure your adjustments are correct.

I very much concur with Thad's (Amrra12) advice on actually setting your sag with the help of a friend.

And I'd also caution everyone that suspension setup for the street is a LOT different than for the race track. There are no speed bumps, or pot-holes on the track. Well most of them. Thad races at one venue that is an exception to that. : )

I sure hope that when you ride on the street that you aren't charging the apex hard leaned over and hard on the front brake!

Blake,
I will check, but I am pretty sure I turned all adjusters in fully until lightly seated and then backed out following the instructions in the owners manual (print) that came with my EARLY 08.

And just to make it clear I was in no way trying to embarrass you clarkjw, I would have PMed you about your errors in suspension setup {but no pm’s on this board as I can tell} and I’m sorry you felt it was necessary to attack me! And as far as my racing ability… well, I’m good enough to ride a bike that was handed to me from people who think I’m fast enough, BUT Hey! if you want to send me YOUR info I will pass it on to them and they may want to pass you the keys to a race bike? As you said you can beat me …so you must be faster then me…you said so... I’m not a trash talker, but I have stuffed many trash talker into turn one!

You won the championship this year, right Thad?

AV" I think we need more info on what kind of riding your doing, and what level of rider you are? and a pic of the tread on you tire, this will tell allot about your setup, funny setups tend to cause weird wear patters in tread and on tires! the way a tire looks can tell A TON about what the bike is doing!

You responded with adequate restraint. It's Clark who owes folks and apology. The nonsense he originally posted is so wrong it's frightening.

Amrra,
I am a street rider. I do track days, but not on this bike. I ride in the middle/faster portion of the Novice group (only done a few days).

Do you just need an overall picture of both front and rear? I can snap them today, I will have the camera out at the AMA races anyways.

Thank you VERY MUCH for your help!

How's this?

FWIW, I just ripped the wheels off the bike and re-balanced the tires/torqued everything per the manual. I figured this would be a good idea to start with.
