Frontline, Look at the pic that says "Remove the cable end...". I believe that the cable itself is binding the two together when the solenoid is installed. It is joined by where the cable is secured at the front butterfly (via nut), to where the cable end attaches at the rear butterfly.
I've been wrong before, but I think that may be the answer here.

This is probably too simple a solution but, What if you just disconnected the noid cable, tied it off somewhere where it couldn't snatch anything else (or maybe just cut the cable off short) and left the noid wired up in place. If activated, the cable would not disrupt the ride. I guess the question is; would the noid be annoyed if it had nothing to pull on?. |

I think this was answered before. Correct me if I'm wrong: if the ECM does not detect the throttle closing when the noid is activated, an error is thrown and the CEL lights up. Otherwise, yeah, it should work.
But the worst is yet to happen when the Eco Planet Alarmists swoop down out of the ether to smack your throttle hand for making too much noise. |

When does this kick in on the CR? I tried going WOT at about 4500RPM in 3rd gear like I have read before, and it didn't kick in as far as I can tell. |

It kicked in on mine before I removed the solenoid. I could activate it at will, and even when I didn't want to. I didn't have to go WOT either....just grab a big handful at that RPM and WHAM! you'll get shutdown. |

Spaceman, it IS very simple. I completely removed the cable and left the solenoid in place. I have only seen the CEL once since this very simple surgery (what you might call outpatient) and it cleared after turning off the key switch and parking my bike for the night just as if I had never seen the CEL. |

De-noided my 1125R today using the Buell resistor as recommended. Took less than an hour and it runs like a champ. Thanks again to all for the good instructions and advice. |

Froggy, I have a CR and it happened to me a handful of times before I got fed up and tore that stupid noid out.
I can't tell you where it happened besides...whenever I wanted to get around a ••••••• cager.
One time I smacked the throttle & the noid kicked in. I held the throttle, possibly giving it more gas...the noid let loose for about a half sec, the motor started spooling up and the noid kicked on again. Did that a few times till I rolled back some. |
