While ridding, at any speed, at any time, randomly the instrument cluster stops responding and the speed or the gear position is not indicated. Then suddenly I can get into a bump down or up shift and it gets back to life. It's intermittent, and sometimes throws the CEL   Geforce Posted on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 - 05:33 pm:        I just had the front clip off this weekend looking for a way to help insulate the IC from excessive vibrations. Take the front fairing off, and check all the wiring up and around that area. If you are not sure, gently disconnect all the wires, take a peek at them and look for corrosion also. I would suspect a loose wire or perhaps a grounding issue. Good luck and I hope this helps. PS - The IC is not hard to remove. It is attached to the fairing stay by 3 bolts. A bit disconcerting. Speedo always comes back up on next restart. Haven't been able to troubleshoot the problem yet.
