Always good to check, but I wonder, I bet Buell has a max power spec that is different than the stock spec, which is almost certainly a compromise for EPA, etc.

This was the case for engines 25 years and more ago, and remains true, even more so now I would think.

Often, the from the factory set-up is not very accurate, either.

But then again, I think you guys probably know all this already, I doubt I'm telling you anything new!

FUn to see, and discuss, though!

Plus, I wouldn't mind knowing the right specs to tune this thing to, because as soon as my warranty is up, if I don't sell it, it's gonna be a hotrod!!!

THere's always a regrind of the stock cams, I don't know if they are tolerant of such behavior, enough base circle, etc.

And knowing how to get the right profile, if you could. I would think you would need an expert in 4 valver cam grinding for such antics, I'm sure they are out there.

"sly,
can u elaborate on what was done to said bike, to produce that kind of power??

THANX,
Jake"

No...

...but I will post that the 11 engine design is capable of 175 crank HP (154 HP @ The Wheel With Everything Perfect!) with a LOT of mods, tuning and $'s thrown at it. ( Don't forget rod bolts in that $'ssss buildup/TRUE BLUEPRINT/MODSSSS!; ) )

+/- 12% @ the tire/crank HP is a very close average based upon the 50+ (Out
of public view..ie; telephone, internet, communications and/or sharing information) of 1125 examples, both years, worldwide. A LOT has already been learned.

More so, has been due to dedicated individuals/companies that really just want all to benefit in the end, no matter how they "appear" in the mix of it all not understood! LOL!

<<<<FWIW, Easyrider has already PROVEN more than the ENTIRE 11 effort has since release! HE KNOWS WHAT HE IS POSTING ABOUT! OBVIOUSLY, HE DEGREES HIS CAMS, DUH? WHY WOULD ANYONE QUESTION THAT NOW? DRIS IS THE MAN!

THANKS TO DRIS...MANY OF US HAVE A TRUE PLATFORM OF CREDIBILITY THAT NO ONE ELSE THUS FAR HAS PROVEN IN PUBLIC. Fact!

Thank you Dris! Again! : )>>>>

Definitely , NOT a street application at this level of "tune" but a "grenade" which is COMMON with ALL production/design built in %'s from almost all factory engineers, worldwide.

Also note that there is a huge difference between internet posts and reality.

"Street" vs "Race" is a huge difference. Either one "pays" one way or another...

Bottom line, keep this realistic...most still bitch about "herky jerky" @ CL/Cruise...

Imagine a fully prepped RR on the street cruising @ 3k in 3rd gear...having CL "enabled"...

And "YOU" should be beaten with a handlebar off of a BLAST if "YOU" attempt a warranty claim or bitch with any dealership after playing on your own in "this" side of the sea..er..pond.

Good luck! ; )...

I will go back to my fishbowl now...mm

This is all just basic tuner stuff at this point. But, as we have a relatively new platform, and limited race and "private" tuner use at this point, and not that many examples of these machines out anyways...

So of course, this sort of stuff is "cloaked in secrecy and doubletalk"

Really, it's just the specs for this stuff that needs to be discovered, or researched for oneself... that's the trick, isn't it?

But, soon enough this info will be getting out, and those of us would like to do this sort of stuff for ourselves, with maybe a little dyno or other help afterwards getting things dialed in, may be able to have that pleasure!

Looking for 10 or 15% power gains doesn't have to mean you're riding a grenade, especially if the prerequisite precautions are taken, and if you aren't riding it on the street like you would on the track, don't rev the snot out of it everywhere you go! The rev limiter is not a shift indicator!

For what its worth Revolution performance is working on heads/cams/pistons for the 1125R. See Latest issue of road racing. I believe they are a sponsor, They have been a big help on my drag bike. I'm sure most people know Brian.

Sly -

As to pistons...maybe you aren't talking to the right people..

The one I talked to, piston photo in hand, a quote, "with a sample, shouldn't be a problem."
Now...I didn't say they would be particularly cheap...!

So...so much for the B.S.

Am I looking into needing new pistons, no. but there are outlets for them.

Mike

1_mike let me know how you make out with pistons. As far as that goes if anyone should pursue larger pistons please keep me in the loop. I may be able to help out as I'll add another set when they decide to build them.

The was a strong hint in the last RRW magazine that Millenium Technologies will come out with some hop up internals for the 1125 soon.

Edit: Revolution Performance as mentioned above. Correct.
