Hello folks...

I saw the cool looking LED tail light in the published 1125R 2010 pictures (buell.com), and just want to have them in my 2008 1125R. I have called about 10 dealerships in the nation, Buell costumer support, etc., but no one really knows if it is compatible.

I am sure many 1125R/CR owners would be interested on this.

I will truly appreciate your input.

For about $60 you could order one and find out for the rest of us

There was a post in the XB section about this. It looked compatible from that post.

I don't think that 2010 signal/brake lights are not exactly compatible. For one thing, the 2010 signal lights are bulbs (IIRC) and so you'd need some sort of adaptor to work with the existing electronics (which are set up to drive LEDs).

But what about xblights? Even nicer than the 2010 lights, I think.

I've got an integrated brake/signal rear light, and it is EXTREMELY bright. Way brighter than stock. A really high quality product, and I would venture to say there is no better. Check 'em out, they're a sponsor here:

The new LED tail light is “retrofitable” to 1125 models and XBs with one caveat. The connector for the new tail light is new; specifically it is a 3 pin JST connector. The power, brake signal, and ground are all the same, i.e. the LED light still uses 12 volts so if you want to swap the light all you need to do is make the connections.

As for the rear turn signals on 1125, you need to run a 2010 cluster to make the bulbs flash rates function correctly, plus you would then need the LED module to run the front LED turn signal mirrors. The 1125s are now set up to run bulb turn signals on the front and back and the LED module makes the LED mirrors in the front look like a bulb by increasing the load on the circuit.

Are you sure the 2010 doesn't have the LEDs in the mirrors? They sure look the same:
