well i just want to thank you all for the help when i needed it. Like my instrument cluster, low fuel light, so on and so on all the main problems. I am FINISHED with buell the quality just isnt there for me. My local dealership has 12 2009 buells they have dropped the price on and cant get rid of them and the 2010 models are comming they have mentioned dropping buell all together. I loved my bike and hated it all at the same time now that p.o.s is gone. It was my dream as a kid to have a buell to represent the american brand but now i have gone back to a harley.

Sorry guys just couldnt take it anymore

goodluck to all

Tonedeath, how many miles total were you able to put on your bike? Are you selling it, or trading it in?

I haven't had any problems with my bike except for a few check engine lights that didn't add up to anything.

It would be nice to know if that same dealer is having to put discounts on the 2009 H-D models on the floor too. With most people not spending their extra money, even if they have plenty of it, I think most motorcycle dealerships have a ton of inventory sitting there.

Why can't people use that cash for clunkers nonsense to buy a bike anyway?

i had 1900 miles on it. the last straw was a simple two hour trip to mississippi for a car show resulting in coolant overflowing from the overflow tube then the water pump seal and a complete loss of power. I traded it in took my loss and bought a 09 street bob. I had the bike for 10 months and it was in the shop most of the time. I couldnt rely on the bike anymore. the day i bought the bike it left me on side the road due to a simple fuse blow but that started a huge downward spiral

1900 miles in 10 months you don't need a motorcycle you need a chair.

It's no joke, I have 12,000 miles on my 08 1125, and in 15 months, the shop had it for over 3 of those months.

SO FAR.

The bike has to sit right now, while I wait for the latest round of broken parts- now it's the THIRD fix for that leaky clutch, a blown rear shock and a sticking rear brake master cylinder.

THird left rear turn signal, too.

Atleast Buell is standing by their product, and the dealer is trying to as helpful as they can. I must give them kudos for that, but I am finding it increasingly difficult to bite my tongue and say nothing, sorry.

I fear to think what will happen once my warranty expires, I will probably be forced to sell cheap before that happens.

Don't get me wrong, I love this bike when it is working, I love riding it, and would probably have 15,000 to 18,000 miles or more on it if it worked all the time.

I hope that the 09 and 2010 bikes have all these reliability and teething problems fixed, because too many people with troubles like ours, and Buell is really in trouble.

I have been a Buell owner for almost 10 years now, and have close to 100,000 miles of riding on Buell motorcycles, I have been a champion of their cause, and put more than my share of riders onto Buells.

I am, a Buell lover, and would certainly wish that I had a better time of it with their latest creation.

I haven't given up yet, but this thing is sorely testing me.

So I can understand how Tonedeath feels, and really doubt he is making this up, and certainly we should all expect better.

So flame away all of you guys, I'm sure most of you that will, probably don't have 10% of the time, miles and money invested in Buell as I do, and probably haven't brought half as many into the fold as I.

After a buy back of my original bike that went extremely smooth thanks to BMC and my dealer I now have an R that is perfect!!!

Buell has stood by their product in my case and I couldnt be more happy with it.

Im kinda in the same boat. I usually do over 10k a year on motorcycles by on my 1125r i only have 5k. Im having some charging issues and my bike has left me on the side of the road several times. My bike has spent more time in the bed of my truck then on the road. I love Buells and i love fast bikes. But for some reason the 1125r is cursed.
The 1125r is the most awesome looking bike i've ever had. And without a doubt its the most troublesome thing i've ever owned. I have had to cancel long rides with my group because i just have no faith in it.

I made a huge mistake when i traded in my xb9 for the 1125r. I wish i could go back in time and slap myself in the face.

One year 5 months and so far the bike has been in the dealer for repairs a total of 70ish days. I've got 5,700miles on it now and it just went back to the dealer yesterday to get the new design clutch slave parts. Hope to have it back by the end of the week. Just remember there is always someone with worse luck than yours.

Had the bike for just under a year, put just over 10k miles on my 08 1125r.

I loved the thing, when it was working for me, and I loved it when it was in the shop.

The thing I hated? The price that people were selling the 08's for when I went to sell mine =)

Would I keep it if I could? Hell yeah! But a move forces the sale. Oh well. GL to all. There's a reason not everyone has all the same bike. Different strokes for different folks.
