I have often read here about people having bad experiences getting warranty parts and service. My 1125 recently had a few of the common issues arise, clutch weep, turn signal failing and instrument cluster lights coming on for no reason. I stopped in at New Castle Harley / Buell spoke to Sean and Rob in service and scheduled an appointment. The guys in service researched the clutch weep issue and made sure they got the new piston & sleeve kit and revision "B" cover. Parts all arrived quickly, the required repairs were done quickly also.

Thanks to all at New Castle Harley /Buell for a pleasant service experience!

That is awesome! I wish my dealers could figure it out that well! Congrats!

Good to see positive feedback! I think a lot of good goes unheralded, and I'm sure your dealer appreciates it.

I can say that my dealer's service is excellent (South Valley HD of SLC). My problems related to 'apparent' ECU issues (bad mileage, dies at idle, theft error, loss of power at speed). They replaced ECU, but problem persisted. The issue was traced to shorts in the harness. Complete harness was replaced, which is no small effort. They threw in my servicing at no charge to offset my inconvenience. I have NO complaints!!

Be mindful that your dealer is one of the better Buell dealers and they are, at your request, simultaneously dealing with:

  • warranty issues on a 2nd owner "race" bike that has been crashed at 120MPH.
  • Trying to get you a 2010 part that was released less than a week ago and is not yet in the system for a 2008 bike.
  • Dealing with a mirror concern that no one at Harley-Davidson or Buell had seen before I submitted some background.

Bottom line is that I have been in touch with Liberty Harley-Davidson and Buell on this several times a day and they are doing an excellent job of trying to get these things taken care of. It's a bit like throwing the entire case of blue rock at the same time.

Court,
I do appreciate the help they are providing. The bike is there right now and they are looking into it. I am not looking for the 2010 clutch cover...I will take anything that fixes the issue. I don't need a free upgrade, just a repair will suffice.

I truly appreciate your help. They were talking about you when I dropped the bike off this morning!
