ok so normally i love when ppl look at my bike and ask about it and say how cool it looks. i ride it every day and usually get atleast 2 a day.. but last night i went out to eat with some friends. my buddy was riding an old zx-10... he cant ride for crap and doesnt know a thing about bikes. we pull up and there is a guy getting out of the car next to us as were getting off our bikes. he looks at my friend and goes "dont let that buell beat ya" i looked at him laughed and said okkkkk. my friend looked kinda puzzeled and said to him "i dont know man, thats a fast ass bike" the guy looks back and goes "its only a little 900, your fine" then looks at me and goes "i own an x1" i at this point am pissed at this guys cockyness and then says he owns an x1 after bashin my bike. so i go
"wtf kinda bike u think im on"

(him) a buell
(me) a buell what
(him) a buell 900
(me) a buell 900 what?!?!?!
(him)ummm i think, a fire... a firebolt right?
(me) ha no, not a 900 firebolt
(him) oh you have the 1200 one? there still nothin great
(me) you obviously dont know anything its a 1125r, buells first water cooled bike. and yea i said 1125 as in SMALLER then 1200.(and laughed) go look it up and the come talk to me
(him) ohh iv never heard of it ill have to check it out

You know, when I hear about cocky people like this, I'm not surprised about motorcycle accident death rates. Arrogant idiots like this abound, and they ride bikes.

They don't know what they don't know. Sometimes it's a technical issue, other times it's a traffic situation. I'm relatively new to motorcycles, but some of the biggest egos I've encountered ride around on two wheels... ignore this guy and avoid him at all costs (especially on the road!).

I had a guy at a stop light roll down his window just to tell me my bike needed a tune up (this is when i had my xb12s with drummer and open airbox) I just laughed and drove away. He had absolutely NO idea what was going on

Like Speedy said, Just take a ride

I had a guy tell me he had a stock X1 that would do an honest 160mph! I replied: Stock WTF! Oh yeah he just changed some jets in the carb and changed the air cleaner. Fortunately I had to leave b4 we got into a heated discussion about X1's and what stock means.

Yeah I know a couple of guys like that that try to talk Buell to me when they don't know.
It's hilarious.
I had one swear to me that he sat on a blue 1125R with factory hardbags back in 2008.
I told him it had to have been a Uly but he swore up and down that it was "the new water-cooled buell"
He also has a Dyna that will do wheelies at 70mph, it has "over 120hp" from the Screaming Eagle kit.

Could it have been this bike and they were mistaken about the color??

This one was rolling in 2008 configured like this. It was at the 25th Home Coming.

Oh well it was probably a blue Uly ;+}

My favorite one is, "Oh, yeah, Buell... When I took the rider safety course, we rode those. Nice little bikes..."

AAAaarrrggghhhh!

I got pulled over for doing 62 on 45 oops. And the cop said and I quote "How does it feel to pay way too much for a bike that is so slow? An in line four 600cc would kick your bikes ass any time". I said: I think you are confusing it with the air cooled Buells. He said that any 600 with a "power commander" can run 9 seconds. I just rolled my eyes and signed for my ticket and left. I was not going to win that debate. He had the advantage (badge and gun).

For what it's worth, guys, that's probably the biggest reason I hang out here is for the most part, the deniziens of this forum are not a pack of ignorant boobs. There is very little clutter that is not at least somewhat grounded in experience, fact or reality. Some, but not much.

I love you guys!

Some food for thought:

"If a small thing has the power to make you angry, does that not indicate something about your size?" Sydney J. Harris

"For every minute you remain angry, you give up sixty seconds of peace of mind." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

I pulled into a parts store yesterday to get a part for vehicle and a kid asked me what kid of bike I had. I told him it was a buell. He said oh it didnt seem loud enough to be a buell. I told him it didnt have a harley engine on it that it had the new water cooled rotax engine. He said oh so its not a buell. I asked him what he was talking about. He said I thought a buell was just a sport bike frame with harley engine. I tried to talk bikes with him and explain the history of buell and told him the rotax engine was a water cooled one they designed. I got so mad I ended up leaving without what I stopped there for.

I also like how nearly all the "Hawg Dawgs" still don't like the 1125 models even tho they're sold in the same store!

Its kinda cool for me tho on the HWY, don't have to wave as much. Just think how busy you would be if we all gotalong.
