I would at least recommend shooting Dan at Traxxion Dynamics a note. IF you have the budget, AK-20 cartridges, re-springing and re-valving.

The feedback that I've gotten from Higbee is that the AK-20 mods are ALMOST as good as the Big Piston Forks (Showa) - but about $1000 less - your call.

Dan and Max UNDERSTAND these suspensions and really CAN set them up and work with you on initial settings and adjustments/tuning.

Good show JT!! I have traxxion springs now and will have AK-20's before I return to the track. I'm not sure about the difference between Penske and Ohlins, but I know of at least one AMA team using an Ohlin shock. I'm not sure I need a shock yet, but I do need new cartidges.

helgate,
jardin exhaust and playing with the tune (stock ECM)
the bike responds to minor adjustments very well...."the more is better" way of thinking is not good with this machine..most of the track bikes we set up we use the same train of thought..
"KISS/keep is simple stupid"

do you race the traxxion AK-20 kit..or just track days? tires?
we use different set ups for "tracked" bike and 100% race bikes...and the level of the rider makes a difference..we never used traxxion...heard great things but have never run them

Another option would be Don at Sitec. He is extremely good with Showa forks and shocks. He will completely re-work the forks for around $200.00 and will charge about the same for the shock. He has done a lot of work for me on my RC51 track bike and I have been very impressed with the results. If anyone is interested, his number is 910-483-1900.
