Hi Bueller's,

I am trying my best to sell remaining 2009 1125R and CR's OTD for just OTD! $11,695 1125CR and $11,995 1125R at Skip Fordyce HD/Buell in Riverside, CA (So Cal). We have never raised the MSRP on our huge inventory of 1125's before or earlier this year and have been a Buell dealer since the beginning ,(we dont undersell and are one of the top Buell dealers in the nation, 3rd straight Pegasus award in a row).

So figure in all the dealer fees are included and California taxes,(freight/setup/registration,taxes,etc), we are right at the price of what the Japanese Sportbike dealers are trying to sell their 2009 bikes here in So Cal advertising OTD prices!. We are not going to sell and please everyone with these OTD prices but we will work with anyone.

My passion for Buell/information and working with aftermarket companies in the area are added benefits as is the service team who work on most of our Buell customer's bikes and other dealers in the area.
I feel its a start with our unique Buell concept store within a store(Erik Buell's shed/barn look) with over 13 Bikes on the floor with Buell parts/motorclothes and acc. Its been in existence since grand opening in March of 2008 with Erik Buell himself in attendance.

Call the store at 951 785-0100 and ask for sales or Rob in the Buell store, Ext 226. Any questions or concerns let me know here or by fon.

Regards,

Rob

So the "SALE" price is MSRP?
Just no extra added fees?

I would also like to by life disability and an extended warranty. Can you undercoat the bike?

I need to be less than $20,000 or my wife will kill me

Yeah, you might consider hiring an advertising/media specialist.

So you think it's odd at the end of a model year to expect aggressive discounting?

If you think waving dealer additional profit fees is a discount, well.....

Call me an Idiot. I don't mean to be rude but it's preying on the naive.... oops I guess thats you. Unless you just like to fight as you flame everyone in your post.

And yes I understand this is a good dealer. Is that worth more? Heck yeah, but not thousands more. Insuring the customer is not more upside down the day of delivery then they should be falls into good "customer service" in my book.

What if you want to trade it in next year and you owe $2500 more than the others being traded in at the same time.

The reason you are an idiot is that you talk smack on a Badweb sponsor who is trying toe to line as far as MSRP.

I have met Rob and he has a true passion for Buells and is an all around good guy. He's responsible for the development of the K&N filter and Zero Gravity windscreens (IIRC on the windscreens.)

What have you contributed other then your troll-ish comments?

+1 Fres

Unless you put a whole lot down on a vehicle, you should expect to be upside down in it for at least a couple years. This dealer is also discounting sales tax and registration which is a pretty big deal.

Again I apologise for being rude. I hope the promotion works because as we all know vales will fall more when 2010's hit. Yes the bikes in my collecting too.

I try to make buying a new bIke fun and it seems to help you can get discounts on anything just by asking the right way. I'll stay out of this one now.

You have to realize that is a California out the door price. The numbers I used are based on the "R" model.
I entered the numbers in the California DMV calculator, the breakdown looks like this:

Type of Calculation: New California Vehicle Purchase

Type of Vehicle: Motorcycle
Model Year: 2009
Motive Power: Gas

Purchase Date: July 01, 2009
Purchase Price: $10,850.00

County: Riverside
Zip Code: 92504

Current Registration: 31.00
Current California Highway Patrol: 22.00
Current Vehicle License Fee: 125.00
Current Motorcycle Safety Fee: 2.00
Current County Service Authority for Freeway Emergencies Fee: 1.00
Current Fingerprint ID Fee: 1.00
Current Auto Theft and/or DUI Crime Deterrence Program: 1.00
Current Abandoned Vehicle Fee: 1.00
Current South Coast Air Basin: 1.00
Current Valley Air Quality: 6.00
Alt Fuel/Tech Reg Fee: 3.00
Use/Sales Tax: 949.00
Motorcycle Cross Index: 1.00
Reflectorized License Plate Fee: 1.00

Total Registration Fees: $196.00

Total Use/Sales Tax: $949.00

Grand Total Registration Fees: $1,145.00

Combined Grand Total OTD: $11,995.00

As you can see California has a number of fee's

That is $2505.00 less than the one I looked at last friday at a local dealer

I hope you guys at Skip Fordyce can sell those bikes. I paid a couple hundred less than that OTD 6 months ago, but I don't really care for the dealership. Too bad you're way up in Riverside.

My comment refers to the wording of the post- it is neither clear nor very well written. I am making no judgment on the pricing. My opinion is that if a salesman is going to advertise on an international forum it should be clear, concise, and well written- this post is not. Just constructive criticism.

I licensed and registered my bike permanently and along with state tax it cost me $125.64 because I wanted a personalized plate. otherwise it would have been $86.00

Dont forget they are also eating the freight and setup charges which are real costs despite what some people may think. Also don't forget that the MSRP listed on the Buell website these days is 12499 for the R and 11999 for the CR. These are good prices, in the ball park of 10k on the base price.

+1. Rob is a very reputable person and a straight shooter those fees do exist. Skip is where I bought my bike back in May. They will work with you just give them a shot if anyone is interested in a new ride. By far the biggest support for Buell. Not many dealers have the bikes on the floor for one. Two none of them have a "Buell Guy" as passionate as him.

11,695 and 11,995 Out The Door is a steal in CA.

God how I wish I could afford it. I'd be on road right now if I could : )

CA is very different in price from the other 49 states.

We can't even go out of state to buy because we have to have a CA model unless the bike is used with over 7500 miles on it.

In TN we have a required doc fee, shipping, and the dealer prep fee.

In addition to the taxes, title, and license fees.

I don't think we could do much better a deal than Racerx.

Guys, you CANNOT expect both greater dealer service and the sale of bikes below dealer cost. There is simply not that much margin in these bikes. Being on the other side of the picture as I am now, I know what these bikes cost. This is a really good deal.

You can not buy bikes from "closeout" dealers and expect the ones trying to be profitable to survive. The ultimate answer is that there will end up being no more than 50 dealers, one per state. The dealers will be able to name the price, no discounts. If you want a Buell, you'll buy it from the closest dealer. If you want service, you will travel great distances to get it.

There are a fewer and fewer number of dealers who are willing to carry Buell bikes at a low margin or at a loss.

Ducdood and RBJ, being bargain basement buyers is killing the brand.

If DaveS were still in the business, I would dispute that claim. Sadly, he's not. But it's good to know there are others out there. I may just have to take a putt on a weekend out to Riverside to check things out.

By "required", you mean required by your dealer, right?

No required by the state to be paid. It's a tax but they call it a "processing fee". It MUST be paid either by the dealer or by the customer, but either way it has to be paid with the sale of EVERY bike.

The taxes must be paid.

The state fees must be paid.

The labor on the dealer prep must be paid.

Shipping must be paid.

The question is WHO will pay these fees as part of the deal.

Ft bstrd,

I have paid full price for each of the three new Buells I've purchased (the used ones have been private sales). If you go back and read my posts you'll see that I am making no comment about the prices Rob posted. Additionally, if you drop Rob a line I'm sure he'll be glad to tell you that we have conversed several times and I think he's a great guy- and I'm reasonably sure he thinks the same of me.

As I stated before- my original comment only suggested that the post could have been written better- that is all.

It really is archaic the way both motorcycle and vehicle manufactures separate known fixed cost so they can advertise low base prices with an * of fine print.

Shipping and prep should be part of invoice as part of the dealers cost of doing business. The consumer pays either way but it would be more honest an straight forward.
