A few day ago a friend of mine dropped by with his brand new 1098. Of course I asked for the keys. I wanted to see what all that commotion was about. To tell you the truth, I did not feel a lot of difference in power. The rider position is more aggressive (and uncomfortable) than my beloved 1125r. Of course, the looks of this bike are amazing (and a pretty lady asked me for a ride, that has never happened in my 1125 hehe). But in total, it was kind of a disappointment.

The 1098 I rode had 18 miles on it and it already had body panels shaking loose and making noise. On the short trip that I went on the seat got really hot from the under tail exhaust. Nice bike but for the price its not for me. Love the exhaust note.

My buddy has an 848, I rode it back to back with an 1125 before I bought my 1125. The 848 handled awesome, braked awesome, power was great...but it was just too darn uncomfortable!

I bought the 1125.

"First full faired 1125R on this thread I believe. Not for everybody but I love full faired bikes. My "Buellcati"? Naaaaa. Too comfortable on the street".

From my post of June 23rd on "Lets see your custom bikes" I do agree with all thats been said so far. They DO draw the attention, but not for my riding. Bob

Ducati's have their merit, but I think they have a different intent than our Buells. There's a reason why the Monster is the best-selling model for them.

They do look and sound like sex on wheels, though.

I've been asked for rides by beautiful women while riding my old SV650. Methinks it's more the rider than the bike. ; )

Edit: Don't get me wrong, a bike like the Ducati would help. They are sexy machines.

I've only owned 2 Ducati's and they were great bikes for the time. I've ridden a 1098 and it's a great bike but when you compare it to the 1125r, the 1125r is what I need, Hands-Down!

I can't quite remember when the term "Naked Bike" was coined but the S1 was one of the 1st naked street fighters that I can really remember. I do think it was created a year or 2 later than the "Monster" series. (At least that's what WikiPedia says ;+} )

Anyway, my point to all this is, the 1125r is what I've been waiting for from Buell, no matter what you want to call it.

The 1125R isn't gonna be competitive in World Superbike, and style, fit and finish on the Ducati is second to none, but Buell.s got it beat in price and comfort.

Bang for the buck goes to the 1125R!
