What do you guys} think about using this thread EXCLUSIVELY to display the dyno results of different performance exhaust systems? Preferably charts that have the individuals baseline (stock) run & a run with their performance exhaust. My hope is to compare the net gains measured between the baseline run and the Perf. Ex. run from exhausts currently offered on the market today (Jardine, HMF, Drummer, Torque Hammer, etc). If mapping was used please include that variable as well. What we are looking for is simply the difference measured from the stock run against the Perf. exhaust run - not the peak HP or which individual bike makes the most. Call it an exhaust shoot-out if you will! Thanks fellas!

I think this is a good idea....EXCEPT for the differences in bikes, climate, dynos, and so on. The thread could be used for entertainment purposes, but not really for fairly comparing performance of different pipes. For that, we'd need something like one bike, in one shop with somewhat controlled conditions.

We'll probably do an 1125 exhaust shootout like we did for the XB's later this year in the winter months. I've already spoken to Terry about doing it up at JT&S at Infineon Raceway.

It's premature to do it now, all the players have to come to market before we do this.

Righteo Al - that sounds good. I have to admit it seems like slim pickings when it comes to choosing a pipe as of right now - nothing really fills the equation of good performance, reasonable price, decent looks and not overly loud. Maybe I'm holding out for too much - but honestly none of the current exhausts blow my hair back.

Stand behind the HMF at idle and it WILL blow your hair back, literally. This thing has a very powerful "cone of power" behind it where its like being punched in the chest. On the other side of the bike, or at 90 degree angles to the bike, its not so bad.

Hey all, i've visited this web site for years, but just recently registered...This idea sounds great...I currently have a 1125CR with a HMF and it's pretty sick...I've got about 100 miles on the pipe, but just placed an order for the HPE exhaust...can't wait to hear what thats all about...The HMF is loud and yes, you do feel the exhaust pressure...I guess my question would be, does anyone know someone with a 1125R/CR with the HPE exhaust? I know it sounds stupid to purchase something without knowing 100% what youre buying, but if you saw this pipe, you'd probably do the same...Just wondering if someone had a sound clip or something to compare it to...

Al, At what RPM do you start the test, I prefer from 2000 RPM, to see how the torque curves are. If I can be of any help, let me know.

Hre is our Torque Hammer exhaust compared with the stock exhaust.

Same bike, same stock ECM first reflash.

Thanks Easyrider - that is exactly the kind of chart we're looking for! By the looks of it your Torque Hammer has set the bar incredibly high! I've seen alot of charts in my day - but holy cow - those gains are absolutely out of this world! I understand this is with no mapping either - in your opinion would the bike run even better with a richened up map? Thanks again for your contribution, your certainly doing great things for the 1125R community!

Easyrider, just wondering, why did you stop at a little over 9000 rpm on the stock pipe run?

Froggy,

I think i was in a hurry, no explaination..

At that period, i was testing so much stuff in so little time, actually nothing changed yet (-:

And both runs are made with the stock ecm.

In that time, there where no solutions for remapping the stock ecm.
