and if yes, how would you go about getting it fixed? I hit a big speed bump and now I am worried that the change of internal shape could affect performance. I know the bike "learns" and could maybe adjust for the slight difference, but I'am planning in tunning the bike and change the stock map with an "unmentionable" tool. This tool in particular has been tuned to the stock exhaust and intake.

That's small enough I don't think it would have much if any effect on the tune.

Mechanically speaking- no reason to worry.

Astheically speaking, if you are anal - it will bug you into spending money to fix/ replace it...

Wait! I am describing me!

I have the exact same dent on my stock muffler. Been running it like that since about the 3rd day I've had it with no Ill effects that I have noticed.

From what I remember on the cut aways I have seen the front part has nothing but straight pipes in them the chambers are in the rear.

The outer shrouding that is dented in the front is nothing but a aesthetic appearance item.

I have exactly the same bump in my can. Bike runs great... maybe I'm getting some exhaust Venturi Effect, LOL

I was annoyed with the bump, so I got a used stock exhaust from someone else (racer Joel Spalding). Not sure if I want to put it on, or maybe send it out for ceramic coating... decisions, decisions. So, I'm living with the bump for now...
