Has anyone had a problem with the dash lights? My light that lights the Tach Needle only works part of the time, rest of the displays seem to be fine. It will come on and off while riding, seems to be associated with vibrations from the engine revs. On and off at various times, have tried to tap on gauge cluster to get it to come on but no luck. | ||

Someone can correct me, but the light up tach needle is a shift light I think. I rarely ride at night so I've never really noticed mine light up that I can remember. | ||

Yep it is a shift light. When you are reving the engine when it's cold or not under a load it will light around 6,000rpm. If yo watch it real careful when you turn on the key and the tach sweeps, it will also light. Is this what you are referring too or, something else? | ||

I must have just noticed it, don't stare at the dash while going up through the gears. Guess it would help if I would read the manual a little better. I will check it this evening and let you know. | ||

I would have preferred a big nasty one that is on the top of the headlight cluster on the inside of the fairing (visible from the riding postition.) Or one on the top edge, inside of the fairing by the riders head. | ||

Harlan: I could say something er, ahh, er rude about your preferences for "big nasty ones" (LOL) but I won't. All I will say is there are many companies that market shift lights of many designs and sizes that could be used in many applications but, I didn't see any "big nasty ones"! Take a pict when you find one. I'm outta heeeere! | ||

OK....something that we can see! that's nasty enough for me. Never really understood having a shift light or needle that one can't see unless one is staring directly at it. I have only seen the 1125r needle light once or twice and that was at night during a missed shift. Guess I am not a good enough rider to divert enough attention to the shift needle when riding in that RPM territory (and not missing shifts.  ) | ||

I just keep the throttle pinned until I hit the rev limiter and shift!!!!!!!!! Amazing how easy it is to shift when that rev limiter backs it off for you :+} Alright maybe that's not the fastest way on the planet but, here on the street it's fine for me. Time2RIDE!!!!!! |
