I have heard the R and CR have pretty high insurance premiums. Is this true? I think I'll stick with my 12S if they are as high as I've heard. Thanks in advance for any info.

$266 a year full coverage with a hospital income plan. Also pay for a gear replacement insurance for $2000 if I go down my riding gear can be replaced. We have a whole list of crap on it so it covers quite a bit of stuff for $0.85 per $100.00.

$340/yr, full coverage from State Farm. 25 years old, one ticket.

State farm uses the engine displacement to determine the premiums, so the 1125 was actually LESS than my XB12R.

you should really really check with rider they have great coverage and beat dairylands quote. They dont consider the 1125r a sportbike they consider it a touring bike

KMFW, IN ANSWER TO YOUR ? I HAVE AN 1125CR BOUGHT IN DEC. HAD INSC. WITH PROGRESSIVE AND THEY DEFINE CR AS HIGH-PERFORAMCE(NON-STREET LEGAL). I NOW HAVE GMAC, I PAY 424. A YEAR, FULL COVERAGE + TOWING AND IT'S $80.00 LESS THAN ON MY FORMER 2000 X1. BUT, I AM OVER 30, MARRIED AND NO TICKETS ALL THOSE DO FACTOR IN AND IF YOU TAKE THE RIDERS SAFETY COURSE IT WILL KNOCK OFF AT LEAST THE AMOUNT YOU PAY FOR THE COURSE, IN MY CASE IT WAS $140.00 . YOU CAN FIND THESE CLASSES AT MOST COMMUNITY COLLEGES. MOST INSC. COMPANIES RECOGNIZE THIS BUT SOME DON'T. GMAC DOES, IT'S ONLY A PHONE CALL, GIVE IT A TRY AND TAKE A CLASS, YOU'LL HAVE FUN AND SAVE MONEY AT THE SAME TIME. HOPE THIS HELPS.

progressive can be really good or crazy high. for instance they wanted 280/yr for the shadow 1100 i wanted to add the R and they wanted nearly 4400 more. that's who i had for the last 6 years cuz they were the best rate i could find until i bought the R now geico does both for a song
