Please don't think I'm bagging on Buell I used those two examples of items that if popped up after the factory warranty will not be covered by the typical extended warranty.

I don't join in on the threads such as " Clutch Weep is getting ridiculous" FYI two new 'owners' posted there justtoday but I don't join in serious mechanical issues, I do leave that to the current owners. I just look forward to the day the bike is a bit more developed and Ill part with my much LOVED Firebolt to the next generation buell.

FYI those are owners in those threads. Posting the annoyances. I do admit I have a low threshold for having to return to dealers for items wether they are covered by warranty or not. Thats why Im watching 1125 evolution so closely, and I'm sure many are.

Now Marcodesade brought up a GREAT example of how a service warranty could work well in this situation and thats if it covers rentals Not all extended Warranties do that, nor dealers. So kudo's.

Again, my only point was trying to place a practical value on an extended warranty. Two posters here have had better luck than I in getting the value back, is it not that exchange of information what were here for?

I think some have confused my dislike of the looks as more than that. This is so close to being a dream come true for me. Long Live V-Twin power, great handling and belt drive!!!!

+1 Brap, now I'm diggin yer dirt

Two posters here have had better luck than I in getting the value back

FWIW I would consider you luckier than me as I have had to use extended warranty before just so happened that the most fun time to ride is also the most likely time (you know, cause you're riding...)for something stupid like the regulator to go out and strand a guy 200 miles from anywhere. long live people who stop to help people, and thank jeebus I didn't have to pay for the repair bill

The dealer by my house has an 08 1125r with 500 miles for 6995. Sure did make me wonder what they'd give me for a trade in on my xb.

It's not a demo. He went from a soft tail to the 1125r to a Dyna in 3 months. Must be nice to have money. My bike was a demo and they were up front telling me that it was. Neither here, nor, thier just passing it along for others as it seemed like a great deal to me. Last thing I need (as much as I want) is a faster bike. I will take the advice I read on here and look at a faster bike when my chicken stripes are gone...

I've been there twice & had a wonderful interaction with Joe. Great dealership & he was a great guy. Their prices are just too high ($11.2K for an 08), I think it's the area, not their fault, they can get it so it's just market driven. They'll definitely get my service biz if I land a Buell.

"their 08's are 8995"

Hmm, maybe I take it back, they quoted me 9995, plus prep, freight, etc, etc for a total of $11.2K,they worked it up on the computer & even follow up in email. Sounds like they may have been up-pricing me, that sucks, now I feel bummed about them. Thanks for letting me know, I guess I won't go back.

Now you've got me thinking. When I was there i said I wanted to re-gear if I got one, and talked about the pulley, swing arm swap. They mentioned swapping the fairing on a CR & R and that might be a better way to go.

I got an email quoting me $12.8K for an 09 CR with the fairing swap (they priced the 08 R and the 09 CR the smae for me at $11.2K), that was $1600 for the fairing swap, I thought he probably just didn't realize the gear/swing arm swap was like a $600 deal. Now I wonder ... did they really opt for the most expensive approach. Man, I just don't know - anyway, thanks again for the heads-up.
