Just got my 08 1125r last weekend to keep my XB12S company. Been raining here in Florida the past week solid so I have not been able to ride it since last Sunday. No rain today so I rolled her out to the drive and cracked her over to warm up. Came up to temp in less then 3 min.. It overcast, very low light. I noticed that my front header was glowing red. The rear was also red. I checked the archives but failed to find anything talking about glowing exhaust. The bike was set up by Jason at Daytona Harley, he stated that the latest tune was in the bike. I have put 200 miles on it since taking delivery and she seemed to run fine up and back Interstate 95. Picked it up Saturday and had to take back Sunday, rear turn signals quit working. That was the only 2 times I have had her out. Do I have a problem or is this something that is normal?

This comes up every few months. It's normal so ride it.

The engine is running on the lean side (thank you EPA). The exhaust tubing is thin (relatively speaking). They glow if you leave the engine running & the bike sitting.

P, You forgot to say that nonfunctioning tail-lamps are normal too.

Look into reprogramming your ECM.
Add a little fuel AND a little ignition timing.
Adding fuel alone will not...get rid of red head-ers.

Normal it may be (and is)...but right it isn't!

Look thru the "search" function about reprogramming, ECM Spy and a coupla unmentionable words.

Brap, no, I didn't forget to say LED taillights going out was 'normal'.

Everyone's a wise@$$ lately, aren't they?

My point, which is the same point made in every single 'red header' thread is that the bike isn't broke. Ride the freaking thing and stop sitting around here b!tching about it already.

If it overly concerns an owner, then look at what you can do to tune the engine so it will run cooler. Everyone says & is convinced it's on the lean side from the factory (Facking EPA), so if it bothers you that much, do something about it.

If you choose not to, no worries. It will still work & not blow up when you least expect it because the headers are glowing red while the bike is idling.

"It's better to be thought a fool and remain silent, than to speak and remove all doubt."

The problem with the early 08's you're non 1125r owning butt is trying to reference is the rear TURN SIGNAL, not tail light. For the record, I've had my 08 since last August, no turn signal issues.

Brap, you really need to stop saying stuff like you have experience with this stuff, cuz those of us that aren't new here know you don't have an 1125. However, I think you knowingly or unknowingly mislead the new people that show up here everyday that you know what you're talking about, which of course you don't.
