Gentlemen, Normally I shut the bike down with the clutch pulled in and a flip of the kill switch. However last night I stalled it while pulling in the garage.  The fans were running fast as expected. Out of habit I flipped the kill switch to off and the fan speed dropped for a second or two then picked up. I went back to the run position and flipped the kill switch again and the same thing happened. The fans slowed down for a second or two then picked up again. I know this is noodling the bike way more than i normally do as I am the shut up and ride type of guy, but has anybody else noticed this? What do you think would cause that? BTW I'm not concerned...it's just one of those things.   | ||

IIRC the ECM monitors the run/ stop switch and will change things around according to how it is switched as well as other factors. I presume that's why it is suggested the engine is shut down via the run/ stop switch versus the key because the ECM "likes" that scenario better. FWIW, I do it both ways, usually with the run/ stop.
