Gentlemen,

Normally I shut the bike down with the clutch pulled in and a flip of the kill switch. However last night I stalled it while pulling in the garage. The fans were running fast as expected. Out of habit I flipped the kill switch to off and the fan speed dropped for a second or two then picked up. I went back to the run position and flipped the kill switch again and the same thing happened. The fans slowed down for a second or two then picked up again.

I know this is noodling the bike way more than i normally do as I am the shut up and ride type of guy, but has anybody else noticed this? What do you think would cause that?

BTW I'm not concerned...it's just one of those things.

IIRC the ECM monitors the run/ stop switch and will change things around according to how it is switched as well as other factors. I presume that's why it is suggested the engine is shut down via the run/ stop switch versus the key because the ECM "likes" that scenario better.

FWIW, I do it both ways, usually with the run/ stop.
