Just a quick question - have you ( in the USA ) received your recall letters for the front brake line yet - in the UK I'm still waiting to hear and there is still nothing about it on VOSA ( our govt. vehicle recall site ).

Got mine about 3 weeks ago. Did it myself to avoid the hassle of the dealer.

Yes, received the letter a couple of weeks ago.

If you do the re-route yourself, make sure the dealer checks the work next time you have the bike in so it's noted against the VIN.

I'd hate someone trying to sell their bike later on down the road & be told by prospective buyers they don't want to buy because you didn't have recall work done on it.

Buell UK had the letters prepared a couple of weeks ago. Apparently the delay is due to VOSA dragging its feet.

There is a bracket, and if your line is abraded they will install a new line at no charge.

Spoke with Buell CS this morning and they have a bunch of kits in stock.

Waiting on my parts to arrive, should be in tomorrow but they won't be installed until next week. I'll post up then.

Are they replacing the front fender if required ? Mine is worn where the brake line is rubbing, but luckily it hasn't damaged the line ...

Is that tape where it rubs on the fork tube? I'd have thought that it would've been a good idea not to have a brake line rubbing at all?

If the brake line has damaged your fender it will be cheerfully replaced.

Yes its tape against the Fork tube. But there is really no rubbing going on there because the is not real movement other then possibly some vibration. The issue before was actual movement of a full 1" or more against the Fender which caused that side of the brake line to wear through. The brake line had no wear whatsoever against the fork tube before.

looks like you did your on re-route. The replacement brake lines looks to be longer. Is there any slack at all in your line Crowely?

There's not much free play but I guess the line will stretch a bit now the S/S braid has been worn through I did ask Customer Services if the new line was longer but they didn't know.
No news of a recall in the UK yet.
I was going to leave it until I took the bike in to have the latest version of the clutch release mechanism fitted. I was told by Buell UK that the parts were being sent a couple of weeks ago but it's gone quiet on that front as well.
