That does look really good. Sucks its not real. But there are a few full fairing kits for the 25r they don't look this good in my opinion.

I prefer the race fairing. That one's okay, but I don't like the squared lines and the industrial look.

The race fairing has a clean, simple, organic look. I'd like to see it in a solid color without all the stickers though:

I know I'm partial due to my own needs but I still like my simple, inexpensive($250.00) Catalyst lowers and as you see in my profile I love full faired bikes. Bob

Hey Bob how did you attach the catalyst lowers to the pods? Did you have to fabricate something?
Ill PM you with my email so we can talk. I want to do this to my bike. Its more cost effective and my wife wont have to kill me.

Dang, those race fairings look OK! It appears they shortened the nosepiece and maybe narrowed it a little, and the lowers just look right. That copper paint is pretty bold too. Me likey!

It's a Catalyst lower fairing. Here's Bob's (Bob_thompson) "How To" for putting it on the bike: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/381728.html

Glendale HD/Buell can get the fairing and they're a sponsor here on BWB as well.

I really like both the race and the one posted at the beginning. So if the first one is photoshopped, then the question is, if all you need is a race license. What do I need to do to get one?

Thanks..

You don't need a race license to by that fairing. Contact Henry Duga at BMC. You can get his contact on their website in the race support info.

So the catalyst lower fairing is made by Buell?

No. Catalyst (The company that makes Catalyst fairings) makes a lower fairing which can be used realtively easily for street application (e.g. kickstand cutout).

The Buell race fairing is just that. A race fairing. You need to order the Buell race fairing from Buell Racing via your dealer.

Do they come paited and how much do they run?

I don't believe either come painted, so you will have to decide on the finish yourself. As for the price, check with Glendale Buell for the Catalyst fairing. Should be in the neighborhood of $253 + shipping/handling. As for the Buell Racing fairing, if you go with the CF version that goes over the pods, I think you're looking in the neighborhood of ~$1.5K.

Just my opinion & YMMV.

You don't need a race license to buy the Buell Racing fairing. The high price is partly due to the fact that it is carbon fiber. The stuff ain't exactly cheap.

Forgot about the Flexi-glass that Pete carries at GSD. I do believe that's the bodywork RMR is using for both Slick's & Barney's bikes. Thanks for the catch Teach & Jmr.

I sure wish someone would make up a "street fairing" kit with the kick stand cut out, mounting brackets made up and uses the stock pods.

Any sponsors wanna do it? I think there would be a market for this. I'd buy one. Not everyone has the time, desire or ability to fabricate stuff like the brackets and such.

Badlionsfan,

It was a hassle getting everything to fit right and the brackets were a challenge. It took me forever to get it finished and now I am waiting to get it back from paint.

I am hoping for the best and getting it installed and getting some miles on the bike will be the test.

I should have it for "Thunder and Lightning"

Jim

Glendale I believe did it on Mario's streetbike which he ALSO raced. You might email them (Sponsor link) Their bike was the one that Catalyst used for the tooling.

I got my Flexiglass panels from Pete last fall. You should also look at the Flexiglass Web site. There are two types side panel, ram air cooling and the solid side type like I have.

If you do go with Flexiglass I would recommend not mounting the black scoop openings. I did. Soon I'm going to get another set of panels and leave the scoops off. Saves weight and makes the install simple.

I do have a belly pan that is not mounted in this picture.

just got some pricing. The fairing kits are pretty expensive from Flexi-Glas and Buell. I am sure you get what you pay for though.

Has anyone used the Catalyst Street Supersport uppers and belly pan? They show the race version on their website but not the Street version. I was hoping to see some pictures.

BikeJunky,

The street version just has cut outs for the lights.

Also, I talked to Trev @ Flexi-glass, and he said they are currently in the process of fabricating a new lower fairing for the 1125r. I will keep y'all posted..

I see there are a few more players offering 1125R fairings now compared to less than a year ago.
