I was just looking at my 1125cr and noticed the back of the left pod is about 1" from the bike. The right is nearly flush. Is it normal or an easy adjustment or should I take it in?

Mine is too, and I also thought it was off --- until I looked at the mounts and saw that's the only position possible. I suspect it's that way to allow finger access to the electrical connector that sits in that gap. Am I way off base? I can't immediately come up with another purpose, but it appears to be intentional . . .

No inside source, but I'd say air-flow(cooling) for the ECM.
Electronics don't like to be hot, resistance usually goes up.

Yeah, I thought it was just poor fit. I took it apart and there was no adjustments at all. I guess it is meant to be that way. Thanks for the input.

Also I noticed inside the pod is a connector, I guess for the ECM and there is also another connector outside the pod near the rear mount with a rubber cap on it. What is that one for?

Thanks,

Mine are pretty much even, back of pod to frame. Within about an .12" anyway.

After reevaluating this morning it is definitely a fit/quality issue. I have some serious gaps between the pod cover and the plastic bottom piece as if the bottom plastic was cut by hand poorly. I guess I will live with it it is just cosmetic.

It looks like it was trimmed too much and it looks like it was done with a hot knife, smooth melted corners. The right is not perfect but much better. I will just live with it and ask when I go in for maintenance.

Hm. Since I've never actually opened it up, I'm going to take your word for what it looks like inside.

The rest of the story though, is that my local shop has about 4-5 1125's at any given time (depending on what's been sold this week). Every one I've noticed has been the same way, always on the left side, like my own. The right side always seems to be right on. To be honest, I quit checking about 3 months ago.

I knew I couldn't be the only one that noticed.
