Ok, so I currently ride an '03 XB9S (a bike that I truly love), and am considering adding an 1125CR to my stable. I test rode one yesterday at a Buell Demo days, and damn that thing pulls like a freight train! It was a decent little 10-12 mile ride, up to 140 mph and some nice sweepers. I like the bike, except... my 6'2" frame is cramped on it- enough that my hip cramped up and I had to stretch it out on a 10 minute ride! I have ridden lots of sport bikes over the years, from Yamahas to Hondas to Triumphs....none have been this uncomfortable for me (maybe I'm just getting old! :-p). I have the select seat on my XB, which is about 1" higher than a standard, and of course the Lightnings have 1" lower pegs. A few inches of extra leg room might be enough to convince me that this is the bike for me! So what do you do? Will Lightning pegs bolt up to an 1125? I see they don't make any seats yet for it, will any of the Firebolt seats mount up? maybe with some modification? any other ideas? | ||

The firebolt seats fit. I have the custom firebolt seat(52319-02Y)on mine. The Uly footpegs fit with some modification and precision engineering (http://www.preeng.com/xcart/product.php?productid= 26&cat=7&page=1 )makes some footpegs that bolt right on. Both options lower the footpegs by 1". I hope this info helps. Mike | ||

Your just getting old.  Seriously though. I am 6' 1" and I do have to stretch my legs before I ride otherwise my hip muscle will feel like its developing a charlie horse. Once stretched I am good for a full day ride with no issues. | ||

Do the high bars, and the Uly pegs go on with NO modification. They slide right on. Night and day difference in the ergos. R | ||

The Firebolt Tour/Select seat will give you about 1/2 inch and the Lightning or Uly pegs drop an inch. I have the Select seat and Uly pegs on mine.  Very comfortable for long rides, many 400 mile days. Longest ride yet, a little over 900 in 24 hours. 17.6k miles. Since you're looking at a CR, taller bars are an easier option than I have for the R. I actually enjoy the low riding stance, and HAVE to have the fairing. Z | ||

Hi there this might sound a little weird but im 5'8 and 220 lbs big upper body with chicken legs. I always get cramps. Where would able to purchase the high bars.I have the pegs . | ||

I doubt changing the bars is going to do much for leg cramps. If you already have the lower pegs, the next best thing would be exercise. I'm not being facetious, but making an honest suggestion. | ||

Get the seat Lion, that 1/2 inch made a big difference for me. (That is if the seat height isn't already a problem for you). (Message edited by unibear12r on April 27, 2009) |
