Hey guys, I don't understand why you need to ty-wrap the throttle cams after removing the solenoid cable. It looks like they are spring loaded in the open position. With no cable to pull them toward the closed position, why ty-wrap them?

Just to keep them operating together. Otherwise the flow might override the spring and you could get fluttering of the butterflies (these butterflies should not flutter ;+})

The only reason to do that is to absolutely remove the possibility of the butterfly's closing while on the gas hard. In all likely-hood it won't ever happen, but it's a "peace of mind" thing I guess. I didn't do mine (zip tied) but I did disconnect the cable and install the plug. Never had any codes show up and it runs beautifully.

I like that "peace of mind thing". I'll take a closer look at those throttle cams and probably safety wire them.

Thanks guys

Well, I ran my test a couple of times today. In third gear, brought the bike up to 4,000 rpm and then just gave it WFO throttle.

There was absolutely no stumble or hesitation and MAN, that acceleration was damned near mind boggling!

So I'm guessing the problem being discussed here isn't in ALL of the 1125's and I'm perfectly happy to be one of the people WITHOUT the problem.

Do a WFO at 4800-4850 rpm in third and you WILL get it.

It's an EPA noise emissions device and unless someone was working hungover at the Buell plant and neglected to install the solenoid correctly--like Zac said, "You WILL get it."

i havnt had an issue but i use the throttle like a reostat not a on off switch so wot is more like a 1 sec roll on rather than a half second punch but yes the acceleration makes my vision blur its so hard on my cr and the front gets all light and if your not ready for it the bike would probably leave you on the ground

Just wait until you goose it in third to pass a car and the engine cuts out......or maybe when you are leaned over in a turn and the engine cuts out. It's not if, it's when.

+1 Fresno

It happened to me several times, which is the reason I got rid of the solenoid in the first place back in June '08. It was not just annoying; it was dangerous, and I thought that I was going to get nailed a couple of times. For me, it was a "Must Have" modification.

Had that happen once. Once was enough for me. Have had the resistor for about a month now and the only reason I've waited this long was because I didn't have the quick seat release kit from American Sport Bike yet. Now I have it and the solenoid is going bye bye.
