2650 miles on my (2008 Bought it last April). 4 recalls, clutch fluid poured out (not even close to a weep...more of a niagara falls type flow) and a rear tire.

Guy who are eating through these tires after under 3k miles:

Make sure you get your rear preload setting correct. I ride pretty hard and have 2 trackdays. At 4600 miles, the rear tire's got at least 3k more to give

i need to have my suspension set up because my tire looks like its on schedule for about 3,000 miles my first one was 2500

My muffler is rusting out and has two prominent holes allowing exhaust to escape.
We don't use salt on the roads here, so I don't know why they would be corroding so soon other than being cheaply made.
Servicing dealer is looking into warranty replacement.


Today I replaced both front and rear rotors (and rear pads since they were due) with scalloped units from American Sport Bike.
They work very well, much better than my warped OEM front rotor that was not warped enough to be replaced under warranty.


Just bought it. 200 miles. Dripping fuel after it's parked.
How much fuel? A small amount of condensed fuel vapors dripping from the fuel vent line is normal. Make sure you have had or get the fuel vent line rerouting performed. After it has been done, the vent line exits at the bottom of the left passenger foot-peg instead of onto the muffler which produces a strong fuel smell when hot. After performed, you will see a small black hose routed through the back side of the peg support.

thanks chameleon. it is routed at the left passenger peg. It's a few drops. I've only ridden the bike 4 times now. 140 miles home from the dealer and 2 more times. It's been raining and dropped to 30 the other night! It still surprises me that the fuel is doing this. Maybe normal on the buell. Never saw it on any of the other.?? maybe 20 - 30 bikes I've owned. Is this fuel dripping normal or just after cold rides?

Most bikes route the vapor line right down and out so it's a short run. Buell's have a longer and more up and down run towards the back of the bike so the vapor takes longer to exit. The vapors are also cooled and condensed when running through the top of the airbox. Be worried if the bike DOESN'T dribble some fuel after a good ride.

What he said ^.

I would think that there may be more liquid fuel coming out the vent line when the ambient temperature is cooler and that hotter ambient temperatures would keep more of the fuel as vapor rather than condensing to liquid.

Just my hypothesis.

Nikponcherello, My bike drips much more fuel now that the hose has been extended to the back. I might put it back the way it was originally. I'm also in Michigan and when cold in the morning it really makes a large puddle of gas on the ground.

About a 1000 miles -

bought a 2008 off the floor earlier this spring.

(issues - in approximate order)

Battery replaced
Numerous engine warning indications
Voltage warnings
Dies at idle, or at light...
Brake line recall
Poor mileage (20 mpg)
Pukes a little gas, but only when bike is hot and relatively full - cold weather not the issue in my case.
Loss of ignition at highway speeds (fuel/spark gone for one or two second intervals)
Replace exhaust (rubs tire)
Theft Error - Cluster/ECU replaced.

Dealer has been great about taking care of these issues. Me hopes this is all.....

These problems have been solved. The root issue was a couple of shorts in the harness leading to ECU. After replacing wiring harness, all is well and I am again happy - so's the 1125.
