on my CR this thing seems to be kinda sketchy - but it could be caused by something else - sometimes while riding (like tonight riding casually in 50-60 degree weather) it rises up to 108-110ish and my seat and right leg/foot seem to be getting hotter - has anyone else experienced this or have any info on what this might be?

This happened to me in my first week with the bike. At the same time, coolant temp was also very high --- up to 211 on one occasion. Service techs and Buell specialist kept telling me it was normal, and that if I didn't like it I should install a heat shield.

I figured out the coolant level was 1/2 quart low. Filled it up and no problems since.

yep, I checked the coolant level as soon as I picked up the bike and it was low.
