Tony: Waay pretty S2! Depending on what kind of track days/ racing you will be doing will depend on what you need to do to prepare your M/C. Please give us a little more detail on what and where your track time time will consist of. Later Neil S. |

Check the lower belt guard and make sure it isn't rubbing on the belt. If it is, get a washer(s) and shim the belt guard out until it clears. |

does this cause premature belt wear and breakage ? |

Maybe some fraying on the side of the belt, but I don't recall any premature breakage from it. I could be wrong. |

Chain drive swingarm Stiffer fork springs (I got 1.1's from Traxxion) Race front brake pads DOT racing tires Tire warmers (they'll make your tires last longer) Replace plastic body with easily repair fiberglass Steering damper Mag wheels K&N filter Exhaust (Dris or factory) Of course this all depends on what you will do with the bike. Mine is off the street so I can go all out. You preferences would be different if you also use the bike on the street. |

In addition to the above - consider total suspension upgrade. Penske or Ohlins shock and then AK-20 cartridges for forks - or at least re-valving in addition to re-springing. Dris = Twinmotorcycles (Badweb sponsor) he's a WIZARD with tuning these machines. I've watched him at work during Homecoming at Road America. They've developed a really well thought-out slip-on for the bike. The Buell Racing exhaust is a full system and might be as much as $2K. Race ECM if you're ever going to do engine work... but START with suspension/brakes/handling - and chain conversion and reverse pattern shift. |

JT, Steve is right about the AK-20's. After I put my stiffer springs in my next problem is revalving, the forks now rebound too fast. I do plan to get the AK-20's. When you call Traxxion talk to Dan. He has been real helpful. The only chain drive for the 1125 that I know of is from the factory (although Pete at Grand Stand Designs is working on one for the 1125). You need to get setup with Henry Duga at BMC. You can get his contact info the BMC Web site. You'll have to buy through a dealer. It's also the same process for getting the brakes. My '08 was built in July. The trans recall didn't affect it. Sorry can't help there. |

The really cool thing about "Buell Racing" stuff - is that you don't need a race license UNLESS it affects engine and EPA stuff - so that really means that you CAN get a bunch of cool Buell Racing goodies - swingarm included. Tranny issue was some kinda lubricating jet that supposedly shoots a higher volume onto the tranny. Not a really complicated thing to do IF it's what I have seen... but definitely worth having done or doing. |

Here's the work you want to be sure has been done: Product Program 0504 - Sidestand, fuel vent, dipstick Product Program 0505 - 2nd ECM reflash Recall 0834 – 5th gear oil jet 0834 for the 5th gear oil jet was based on redlining it in 5th for extended periods could cause it to seize due to not oiling correctly. |

and i imagine if u cant use a cr set up because of reduction in rpm(if im seeing it right) that with a chain set up with other then stock gear ratios unless u have a race ecm or some other way to adjust it it isnt helpin u. with the cr since u have a 9 percent and these bikes use rpm to calc. speed and stuff. that putting it on the r would lower ur redline... right? so wouldnt a chain kit with lower gearing do the same. makes me wonder though if im thinkin this wrong cause it u raise the gearing ratio ur redline would go up. shooot i dont know.. any thought? |

In most race courses, you can't get anywhere close to redline with stock gearing... meaning you're giving up acceleration. Unused RPMs are WASTED RPMs. |

whilst you could fit the swingingarm, rear pulley etc from the CR a conversion to a chain drive would give you even more flexibility in adjusting the bikes gearing to suit whichever track you are on. |

Found something 'neat' while looking around:
About $100+/- if my currency conversions are correct. http://www.twinmotorcycles.nl/webshop/artikel.asp?guid=YXHFSC&aid=2002&cid=153&s=&a= |

Do you realize that baby is for reversing your shift pattern? Not sure that's something I'd want to mess with. Nice find though. |

Yes, I am aware, since I can't find a GP shift anywhere else than from Buell Racing for ~$475. Since I won't be around a lathe & mill until ~August, I won't be able to make 1 of my own that I'd be proud of. I got 'spoiled' with GP shift on my M2 & X1. I want it back. |
