Alright so on my month old 1125 my digital speedo will stick at 0 every once in a while, it has happened accelerating from a dead stop to cruising on the interstate. Anyone else have this problem? or might know what could be causing this?? thanks for any info.

It happened to me when I did not give the electronics enough time to run through the startup checks. What I mean by this is turning on the key turing the run switch to on and then waiting until the check engine lamp goes out. When I started the bike before letting all of this go through its paces, the speedo stuck at 0 once or twice.

Gremlins....

Definitely.

You need one of those bells to disorient the little bastards so they fall off while you're riding.

mine did that ONCE but i was giving my CR hell riding in first gear practicing my power wheelies - which i have to say my bike does not wheelie as easily as everyones Rs seem to, maybe its just me, but it definitely gets light enough for a lot of uncomfortable headshake - but thats another thread

Mine does that but I think it's because I can't ride it due to the SNOW.....

Alton,

That is the only time I have ever had any experience with it. There is another thread on Badweb with information concerning the speedo glitch with some information on possible causes. It seems you are not alone.

I would definitely talk to the service dept the next time I was in there if it continues to happen, but since it is random, it will be hard to show them what it is doing. Just my thoughts. Good luck.

Mike

Mine did it once before the break in was complete. Riding about 40 around a gradual turn...looked down and saw it at the moment it dropped to zero. But with all the flashes and re flashes it dares not do it again.

I agree with carbonbigfoot...definitely Gremlins. Not your garden variety "don't feed em after midnight, and don't get em wet" gremlins...but more like the sit on the wing and taunt you during flight kind.

Mines intermittent too. It sticks at zero and sometimes goes up and down. They put a new 09 cluster in mine and it fixed it for a while. It isnt the problem .I believe its the pickup.I believe since it got colder it works more .During the summer it never worked. At least i got a 09 cluster for free.

My XB would do that sometimes when I'd first take her out for the day. Was told it was due to a speedo sensor getting ready to take a crap.

My Uly had the same issue, it turned out to be a bad connection from the speed sensor. Local shop found it, and repaired under warranty...

Hootowl, which one scared you...

the original?

or the remake?

They both scared the hell out of me- the first as a kid, and the second as a teen. I still enjoy watching both versions.
