I just saw a new 2008 1125R today at the Cleveland IX Center motorcycle show for under $8,000. I didn't ask what kind of "additional" on fees might be added but that is the lowest I have seen a base price.

$7,995 un-freaking-believable. I wish CA was not such a pain in the ass regarding bringing in bike from out of state. It would open up SO many more options for us for taking advantage of deals like this.....and for used machines too

Dealers are selling new ones for 8K. It doesn't matter what NADA is, it's only worth what someone will pay. They aren't going to give you 8K on a trade in when they can't move what they have and are trying to sell them for 8K new. As for the salesman telling you that you could buy and trade it back in to make a grand, he was a salesman selling you a bike.

Seeing used ones show up in the $5500.00 range probably isn't as far away as you think.

Sounds logical So If I buy 10, and resale than I will make $10,000, if I buy 20 I make $20,000. You almost think they would do that themselves but here they are handing out presents to everyone.

But seriously that is likely true as trade in is not a real number. They could give you $15,000 trade if thats what you want to hear, they just don't discount the new bike like they would have.

Used will always be worth less than new in REAL dollars.
