Buellfloridajim, When it's the 4th reflash then it's possible. I noticed the same here on the dyno.

How about a comparison between 08r's with pre/post flashes and the 09's?

Same thing here.

No record of before remap, but now that there's enough miles on it and it's on it "first" remap...Friday morning getting on the freeway...4th stopped just shy of 9,000...?
Going too fast per traffic to try 5th.

I just figured it was the "butterfly control" solenoid.

Pretty bad when something is advertised as one thing...then you actually get another.

Still hoping to figure it all out...!

I think the problem is heat. After three flashes, my bike runs much cooler. Probably too cool. The engine seems so under-stressed that, periodically, I have to give my girlfriend a ride on the back just to give the motor a workout. She really loves it when I take her up to 130 or so! After a good flogging with her, the power comes way up. when I get away from this ritual, I feel the same thing. That is, like the bike is getting tired or losing power or something. And I only have 7,000 miles on it. Could it be that the bike needs hotter plugs?

My bike had nothing but problems after the latest flash, my intermittent battery discharge became more of a problem, and I seemed to lose a significant amount of topend power, then after a while it started running rough periodically. Then the AT gauge got innacurate, and it got an intermitant dangerously high idle (unrideable at 4,000 rpm!!!) after that.

I brought it in...(DOH!), and after 4 1/2 (!!!???) weeks, I just got my bike back yesterday.

New AT sensor, and new Instrument Cluster.

So far (2 days, and just under 100 miles) It seems all is well with my baby, the power seems to have returned, atleast most enough of it to call it good, and it runs much smoother now, seems to run better than I ever remember it running, no more mysterious and unpredictable high idle, and so far the charging system seems cured, but time will tell for sure.

A friend of mine had something interesting to say, he thought maybe the new flash for the 08s is incompatible with the old IC software, causing strange troubles like this, and then exagerated by a bad AT sensor.

But it seems better now, I hope you guys can figure out your trouble...

Changed out for pre flash ecm and the hard pull is back but still not quick to red line in 5th but it gets up if you hold it long enough.getting a u0003 communication code. not sure why ? get much more power! clutch could be a problem considering it went dry several times due to the leaky cover not fixed untill 6k. may not be pulling full out due to this. is the clutch fluid an issue on a slipper clutch or is it just for the hydrolics? The beast is almost back. I love it and have tenasity.
