well i picked up my bike last night at the dealership. While i was letting it warm up my good old buddy check engine light came on. Well needless to say they sent a truck to come get my bike this morning. When i started it up the low fuel light came on with a full tank of gas again.

Dose anyone have any information on a buy back????????

Bike has been trouble since day one.

There is an updated cluster to correct both of these problems. Mine started to do it the day after the cluster was replaced the first time. I just got another cluster installed and so far so good.

Go ahead and sell it back and do the following:

Buy a Ducati, go to the ducati forum http://www.ducati.ms/ and search the word "problem." You'll find over 600 separate posts...sell your Ducati.

Buy a Gixxer, go to the Gixxer forum http://www.gsxr.com/ and search the word "problem." Again you'll find over 176 separate posts...sell your Gixxer.

Buy an R1, go to the R1 forum http://www.r1-forum.com/ and search the word "problem." Once again you'll find over 400 posts...sell your R1.

My point, other than being obnoxious on a -20 degree Friday when I would love to be out riding is that those are established motorcycles with years more R&D than our beloved 1125r/cr. It seems your mind was made up as soon as the "miracle" buell had its first hiccup. My suggestion is to sell the buell and get something with pedals and four wheels...Yes, this post is a little troll-ish. But come on people, these are the little problems that make good conversation at rest stops after you've done a 700 mile day and you pull up next to a full dress Harley. Take the issues at stride at let the system work. If your dealer can't help you...here is a novel thought...find a new dealer.

well thanks for bieng a smartA#@ i had a gsxr with 23,000 miles on it and never seen the check engine light ever. There isnt any reason to have this many problems with less than 1000 miles on it. I just traded in a 2008 sportster 1200 that i dogged the crap of for 4,000 miles and never had one problem. Good conversation would be nice at rest stops would be nice if my bike was on the road a 1/4 as much as it is in the shop.

Bike has been trouble since day one.

Are you kidding me.....you are still on day 1.

LOL! You are not even done with 24 hours with your bike and you act like it's blown a motor, slept with your wife, and is forcing your kids to call it dad instead of you.

Make sure the bike has had it's TSB and recalls performed and BREATHE!

The bike is fun. Allow your dealership to fix the issues and then go and enjoy it.

Point taken about the smartA#@...but i think you will find that a lot of the issue's with this bike go away around the 1000 mile mark. No, it's not right, I think it should be cherry right out the door. But its not. Give it some time, let it break in...like a new kid you gotta burp it or it will throw up on you every once and a while.

Out side of the check engine light issue...did you ever have any problems whatsoever with your Gixxer?

ahhh....then allow me to apologize for taking your post the wrong way. I interpreted as though you just bought the bike, not as though you took it in for service then picked it up.

huh? We are trying to inform you that there is a solution to your problem other than hassling with a buy back.

its had all the recals done its just ridden with electical issues.

good on the recalls. Might be an issue with a bad connection, or could be a faulty cluster. (or maybe there was an actual check engine issue)}

it's their way to try and replace a problematic piece one at a time.

Keep on them....it'll be better soon.

Tonedeath, Sorry about your luck with your bike. I totally understand your situation, I've had more problems with my bike than most people on this site. The dealer and I have been working through them slowly and it is annoying being its new and should not have all these problems. I have one more year of warranty left and am going to hang tight to see if Buell will correct the major problems in this last year. I like the bike but it is a hassle getting it to the dealer all the time.

Did your dealer call Buell about the low fuel light or did they just blow you off? My dealer called Buell and they knew there was a programming problem with the cluster they put on my bike. Buell sent them another cluster and that fixed the low fuel light problem. I don't know what other problems you are having but since I got my bike last February I would guess mine has been in the dealer 9 separate times with a total down time of 50 days! I'm going to pick up a used Honda this Sunday and hopefully between the two bikes I'll be able to ride all summer. Good luck with yours!

Tonedeath, I understand your frustration. I have no understanding why people that complain that a brans new bike you paid good $$ for has to go in for service.

You are right,
They are wrong.

They will call you a troll. they will tell you other brands have problems etc.

All that matters is what happens when your bike is not operating properly. I have little patience for inexcusable things such as delivering an un-inspected bike when problems are known and I'm pretty sure they have enough free time to spend 30 minutes going over a bike for known issues.

I would be fire ass pissed.

There is a huge audience that wants the 1125 bike but is on the sidelines until these stories are taken serious.
