If you own a Buell and have never felt this way- you're lucky. Let the man vent... we've all been there. The truth is, Buells have more "character" than most other bikes- both good and bad. I feel for every person who is pissed about a Buell not performing the way it should- I've had more trouble with them than all the other makes I've owned put together. Not everyone is willing to put up with it.

If the bike does not meet the owner's requirements for reliability, performance, or whatever else- then he has the right to be frustrated, share his disappointment, and solve the problem as he sees fit. I know exactly how he feels.. but I still choose to own a Buell.

We are. You spoke poorly.

Looking for help and starting with a phrase like "I should have kept my Sportster" induces folks like me (who has a fairly good track record of helping folks) simply pass the post.

If you want to avoid smartass folks, don't be one.

It's simple really.

Thats Bull crap that people cant vent. No manufacture should require butt kissing when they spent good money for a non performing product. This site is swarming with manufacture and dealer personnel because some of these threads are like watching Fox news. It is so biased.

If you want people to worship at the alter, please consider his purchase as a sign of good faith and return the gesture.

He who has never vented may cast the first stone.

To fix probs.
Change 10 amp fuse to a 30 as you've stated it should be.
CEL could be a lot of things, what's the code?
Low fuel light, either your tank is low (guessing not) or possibly a loose connection or bad sensor.
You can reset the service reminder yourself.
There have been a few probs with charging/voltage items on early 1125s. I have nothing there.

Hope that helps you, and yes, your punctuation (or lack thereof) sucks. Forming complete sentences makes it a lot easier to communicate your problems/intentions.
If you always speak in one big run on sentence I can see why the dealership cannot understand what you are talking about and is unable to help you resolve your problems Step back take a breath and calmly explain problems

And yes, there is sarcasm in that last run on paragraph.

Actually it's probably the opposite. Seems like it's getting plenty of feedback and you didn't pass the post.

That said, you do have a fairly good track record of helping folks. Better than fairly good.

Hope my punctuation isn't too bad.

Jesus did not pick and choose who he helped.

The customer is always right and there is nothing more satisfing than to take the most angry customer and make him you most loyal customer.

When you pick and choose whom you want to "pass" it's seems very un-business like.

It's nice when people are calm but treating a customer second class because they are choose words you dont like seems as childish as asking a child to say simon sezz.

The problem sounds like it's with the bike, not the owner.

And yes I can neither spell nor punctuate.

Wouldn't you be angry ?
I mean you spend $11,000 plus for a motorcycle,(by the way, why do some motorcycles cost as much as a econobox ?) and there is problem after problem.

The man didn't use commas & periods. So what, this isn't a school paper. This is the internet, where wimp can be a tough guy, a 2(monkey) can be a 10(fox) and a nerd with superwiki search skills can seem like the smartest motherfunker on the planet.

>>>>i just wish i was getting help not backlash for being frustrated

The "backlash" has, as previously noted, absolutely nothing to do with your frustration.

>>>>Wouldn't you be angry ?

I would be. But I am smart and have learned over the year not to arrive at someone's door asking for help and start the conversation by calling them stupid, insulting them and making condescending remarks.

The customer may always be right but when the customer acts like a total horse's ass the customer is going to make getting help a lot like climbing a greased mirror.

I made a bit of a name for myself, while working at Buell, when I hung up on a customer and told him when he could act like a grown up to call back.

I have a 20+ year history, including several members here who have recently received new bikes, of going way out of my way and at my own expense, to help folks.

But, call me cranky in my old age, there are a couple things that I have little tolerance for. The first is not being told all the facts. I recently got drawn into a case where I was acting as an advocate fro the customer only to later find out the customer, not Buell's "poor design" was what broke the bike. The other thing I have no patience for is folks who's parents failed to teach them bad manners.

Try arriving at your date's house and asking her father how she is in the sack?

It's really simple.

I agree that if you want someone to take the time to give you useful answers to your questions, you should take the time to convey those questions clearly (and with at least some attempt at sentence structure to make the post legible).

Because the jabbering back and forth about appropriate conduct to receive the best help could go on forever (I agree by the way), I'll offer also that you need to find a new dealer on at least two counts:

10 amp fuse initially installed -
Isn't this fuse inserted as part of setup/PDI? Dealer either installed some fuse other than what was shipped with the bike, or should have immediately known better than to use the 10 amp is it were mistakenly shipped in place of a 30.

Service Now message -
To tell you that it will go off in a few miles is a sign to me that they have no interest in servicing your bike or providing after-sale customer support. This message, as everyone knows, is cleared manually and turns off immediately upon reset of the service counter.

The other problems you've spoken of cannot be addressed because you have provided insufficient information.

Is your bike a 2008 or 2009 model?

What's the build date (on frame with VIN)?

Have you had all the latest updates and recalls, as applicable?

From what I read that mans first post, he insulted no one and called no one stupid.

The second(reply) post was all about his writing skills.
Which has nothing to do with the subject. I read his first post an understand exactly what he was saying.

“find a 10 amp fues in the main battery fuse supposed to be a 30amp wtf “ – Have the dealer replace it, or do it yourself.

“the check engine light always comes on along with the low fuel light “ – What codes are being thrown w/ the CEL?

“first oil change when i pick up my bike i notice the service now message still on they tell me it will go off in a few miles bs “ – Reset it yourself & avoid the frustration

“a week later bike dies on me twice system voltage error jumped it off drove it stright to the dealer told them i dont want it back till its fixed “ – Same dealer that put in the wrong fuse & didn’t know how to reset the service odometer? You may want to look for another dealer in your area.

“love my bike dont love the problems anyone eles experinced these problems with less than a thousand miles” – Don’t think so. Some folks have had worse problems, some have had less, and some have had none. I hope you can find & resolve the cause of your troubles.

I just knew I should have kept my Ninja the first time I got a flat on my XB9R....

: )

Tonedeath, this is the best forum in regards to bikes on the net and the best bunch I have yet to interact with. If my bike had the issues your has I'd be ticked as well, and might think of going back to a GSXR (not that I'd ever really want one...). Try to work it out with Buell, a decent dealer and the enthusiasts that love to give free info here. Frustration clouds judgement and actions - sit back take a breath and maybe take another stab at getting help and advice here.

Ray,

Being pissed off is'nt a sin here or anywhere else cause you payed to play.

But when Court interjects his comments and you really want an answer, it pays to listen, as he's probably your best bet at getting your answer for you and a resolution to your problem.

After going through a buy back, believe me, He gets it and has helped many of us here.

my $.02

PS your rite about the dealers being behind the curve on a bike thats barely a year old, but what a bike it is rite?

Les

Then they should put the rules in the owners manual. so people dont get vilified for not knowing in advance how and where and how Buell addresses issues online.

Since this is the only real meeting spot online, maybe a sticky thread titled, "say please".

It's not what you say, it's how you say it. Let's break it down...

"I should have kept my sportster"

Perhaps that thread title would have gotten a more sympathetic ear on a sporster forum. Maybe something along the lines of "Help with my 1125R?" might have been a better title.

"not even a thousand miles on my1125r loved it when i got it 25 mins from the dealer bike dies i find a 10 amp fues in the main battery fuse supposed to be a 30amp wtf the check engine light always comes on along with the low fuel light first oil change when i pick up my bike i notice the service now message still on they tell me it will go off in a few miles bs a week later bike dies on me twice system voltage error jumped it off drove it stright to the dealer told them i dont want it back till its fixed love my bike dont love the problems anyone eles experinced these problems with less than a thousand miles"

Other than being hard to read, nothing wrong with the post. BUT nowhere did you ask for help. Seems like you were just venting (which is not a problem).

You asked has anyone else experienced these problems? To answer your question, yes. Others have had simular issues that have been successfully resolved.

Since you later posted you were seeking help, here is what I have to offer. Your current dealer seems unable or unwilling to correct the problems on your bike. One of two things would probably work here;
1) Politely request a sit down with the service manager and see if you can work things out with them.
2) Take your bike to a different dealer who knows and supports Buells a little better.

If neither of those options work, try contacting Court with ALL the details of you problem. Court has a way of "making things happen" when all else fails. I know this from personal experience, as well as stories posted here on the BadWeb!

Lastly, no one here is trying to slam you or belittle you, but remeber this is a pro-Buell website. Posting with a negative vibe on your FIRST post, then later claiming all I wanted was help is not a great way to garner support.
